No you think it does just fine but in actuality its not. Read up man this subject been beat every way possible. Don't VTA on a maf equiped car PERIOD
Question: Since I'm running low boost (23 psi) should I need to upgrade my IX DV??? I got the Forge EVO15 but am comtemplating about install it because I've heard aftermarket DVs give partial-throttle problems (fluttering??) which will effect my daily driving.....
People should not be upgrading their stock IX DVs unless they are running huge boost or an upgraded turbo. I don't know what's going on here.
Battlecat, you're getting confused about the terminology. He said BOV, which technically refers to a VTA valve. You are thinking he means any valve, whether it be a diverter valve or vta. VTA = BAD. DV = GOOD. Sometimes, we refer to both of them as BOVs to save time.

To the OP.
Are you asking for a good Diverter Valve/Compressor Bypass Valve/Recirculated BOV that can replace the stock one - be just as good under stock boost and stock ECU as the OEM IX and give you a good sound and has headroom for more boost down the road?
Does such an option exist?

Improperly set up CBV's can flutter. If you are running 15psi and you have a spring designed to run 20psi+ the valve will have a hard time opening which could cause flutter.
The Evo15 valve comes equipped with a blue spring that covers 85% of Evo applications including 23psi. For 25-26+, move to the red spring.
Evo IX's on 93 tuned properly can be run to spike 24-25psi on pump.

If you're asking the question, the answer is 100% "yes, it's bad, don't do it".
No I am not asking a question I was informing people that VTA is not bad on ALL EVOS which was previously said. Just for the person that said that to correct their post to say that all cars with a MAF.
