There is no benefit on running a DUAL PORT bov on an evo such as the GFB or the Turbosmart, APS unit other than "sound". At some point in the process you have to ask yourself if you are buying it to actually hold more boost or just wanting to sound cool.

You need to stop talking...or explain completely what you mean. Because what your saying is ALL EVOS lose power with a BOV which is false. Mine does just fine.

The stock IX DV should hold 23 psi all day. Test it to be sure

I run 23 psi and my stock IX dv is working just fine. I'll need to upgrade when I start running 30 psi though.

People should not be upgrading their stock IX DVs unless they are running huge boost or an upgraded turbo. I don't know what's going on here.

Battlecat, you're getting confused about the terminology. He said BOV, which technically refers to a VTA valve. You are thinking he means any valve, whether it be a diverter valve or vta. VTA = BAD. DV = GOOD. Sometimes, we refer to both of them as BOVs to save time.

There would be no gain in changing it. Another mod for the same price would be money better spent.

To the OP.

Are you asking for a good Diverter Valve/Compressor Bypass Valve/Recirculated BOV that can replace the stock one - be just as good under stock boost and stock ECU as the OEM IX and give you a good sound and has headroom for more boost down the road?

Does such an option exist?

23psi could be hit or miss with the IX valve. You are starting to reach the limit of what is can hold.

Improperly set up CBV's can flutter. If you are running 15psi and you have a spring designed to run 20psi+ the valve will have a hard time opening which could cause flutter.

The Evo15 valve comes equipped with a blue spring that covers 85% of Evo applications including 23psi. For 25-26+, move to the red spring.

Evo IX's on 93 tuned properly can be run to spike 24-25psi on pump.

If you're running speed density on a standalone EMS, you're not asking stupid questions that have been answered 100 times like this.

If you're asking the question, the answer is 100% "yes, it's bad, don't do it".

No I am not asking a question I was informing people that VTA is not bad on ALL EVOS which was previously said. Just for the person that said that to correct their post to say that all cars with a MAF.
