for mini battery users

Im trying to piece together/build my own mini battery kit and was wondering what battery everyone is running.

Im thinking of going w/ the Odyssey PC680 but dont know if I should go w/ the metal jacket or not. What's the difference?

thanks in advance,
Chris

I have the pc680 in my VIII and have had it for almost 2 years now. I do not have a metal jacket, I don't think its necessary. This battery is totally trouble free. It will handle daily driving, track events, and cold starts in the winter. Not to mention good weight loss off the front of the car. I am going to get one for my IX in the Spring.

Little or none

I have the Odyssey 680 battery and I haven't had a problem with it yet. I have the GSC mini-battery tray, from STikiller.com, which wraps around the front, back, and bottom of the battery providing some protection from heat. If you're really worried, order a ThermoTec battery blanket and solve your problem. No additional metal needed.

Where can you buy the metal jackets for the Odyssey PC680 battery. I looked, but couldn't find it anywhere?
