Powerflex mount vibrates my car ALOT!!

Just installed the front lower mount today and what I notice first is that the car starts to vibrate like crazy and the whole dash rattles like mad when I passes 6000rpms! it vibrates hard enough that it is really LOUD...
I can feel that the whole car vibrates ALOT beyond 6000rpms..

I have a stroked 2.3L motor with balance shafts removed...

Anyone experience this too??

I regret changing my mounts.. and now that my stock mount is broken, I can't replace it to stock! Sucks..

Anyone has the stock piece in good condition???

I have the ralliart ones and it vibrates under 1000 rpms. My idle is at 950rpm. Its not to bad. The buschur ones are even harder. The power flex ones are softer than the ralliart ones. A price for consistency and power to the ground.

well for starters
its a urethane motor mount
which is quite a bit harder than the stock rubber mounts
thats one reason
and then you got rid of the balance shafts
another reason...
i had urethane mounts in all my other cars
its the price u pay for that mod
after a while you wont even notice it

Mine vibrated a bit for about the first week, now I don't notice it. But with the balance shafts removed you'll always feel more vibration.

Check the install and give it a few days.

wrong ralliart is 65 durometer and powerflex is 80

i suggest going to rre and buying the motor mounts they're selling 62 durometer urathane in an aluminum mount. gauranteed for life even if you get into an accident!

this is unlike the 65 durometer RUBBER of ralliart.

I have a stupid ignorant question - why the hell would one want to get rid of one's balance shafts?

The problem is not the motor mount, the problem is that the balance shafts are missing...

I'm running all 4 Powerflew Bushings on my car, Motor is stock, and after close to 8k worth of driving on them, all 4 studs and nuts on my upper tranny mount have come out and found a new place on the road...I'm replacing them today, but yes vibration is much more severe with these mounts, but what do you expect, plus vibration is found in many more places then just the motor, by providing the motor and tranny with basically no seperation from the rest of the car, dont be suprised to see things floating around loosely...

Its good for about 10whp i'm told due to the speeds they need to travel.
Less rotating weight is better at any rate for power.
I believe AMS had an article on making power describing this on their media page.

When they first came out... there were customers saying that the three mounts (lower front/upper two) didn't vibrate as bad as just the front one (a matter of harmonics I guess... kinda like a tuning fork and glass). Others went on to say that adding the small rear mount made them vibrate badly again... I've had the front for quite some time now, and other than at idle, it is transparent except for the benefits. However, at certain idle speeds, you'd think the dash was going to pop out.

I think I'd do an Ingalls Stiffy if I had it to do over , infact I may do it over, it does get annoying sometimes .... We sit and laugh at it sometimes at stop lights because I haven't tuned or adjusted the lobing of the cams yet.

Did help 1st to 2nd a lot though ... worthwhile mod, for sure

i did all of mine- the idle vibration is horrible- but have no vibration problems at high rpms - not really worth the benefits in my opinion
