Washing the EVO

Well guys I got my evo and have washed it twice already. Previously I had a Mitsubishi Eclipse and I could wash it fine but the evo is different. When I go to dry my car, It always has water spots. It's so difficult to wash it and not get any water stains. Also when I'm trying to dry it, It doesn't really dry. I have to rub the same spot many times before it becomes dry without water stains. Do any of you evo owners have this problem?

What are you using to do the drying? What kind of soap do you use when you wash the car? I use THE Absorber and never have a problem with water spots.

Ya, be sure to use car soap - not dish soap. Try using a microfiber towel and wax-as-you-dry. My TB comes outs better when I do that.

Give the Mr. Clean thing a shot. Always dries without any spots for me.

Use "the Absorber" like said before. I don't get waterspots after drying with that.

Keep it waxed.
I agree. I use Zip Wax, The Absorber, as well as the Wax-As-You-Dry.
As far as wax goes, inbetween thorough wax jobs I use Dupont wax with teflon.

Clay it then wax it. You wont see any water marks then... Just make sure if your going to apply any wax, you clay it or buff it first. I suggest Zaino, but any wax/sealant will work as long as you do a good prep job.

Yup with black you are screwed. I had a black 03 Cobra that looked beautiful whne washed and waxed, then dirty just 20 minutes later, without ever moving.

Would it be better to have my car washed and waxed before the winter or have it done right after.
