Funny how Rx-7's and DSM's are considered "domestic", but I guess they could use the help! =)

last year, there were not as may USA cars to choose from, so we used the V8 RX 7's to fill that void, this year, we won't need that for filler. the EAGLE's were sold in the USA, so 'technically' they are American cars. I know their cousin (eclipse) looks identical, but, they need AWD help also, and they were sold in the USA as American cars.

The Plymouth Laser, Eagle Talon, and Mitsubishi Eclipse were all made in Joliet, IL, but I understand the need to even out the teams.

Yeah, they would say the Talons/Lasers (and there is another one, can't remember), are AMERICAN cars (if we had all the AWD cars on our side), and they would call foul! kinda confusing as a spectator, watching a Talon and an Eclipse battle head to head but on opposite sides. We will see how the entries stack up.

DSM's were "assembled" in the US, but 90% of the parts were from Japan (frame itself was stamped out in the US however). The car was mostly designed by Mitsubishi (as can be seen when you compare them to the fully Japanese Galant VR-4 which had the same exact engine and drivetrain) so I think it is pretty silly to consider a DSM "domestic". I guess it is kind of hard to fit it in either category. Anyways last years event was the shizzle!

Must say I'm a little disappointed that there will be no slalom or skidpad counting toward the total points, especially since I WON the skidpad last year I guess it is due to site limitations, but I would not give up that site. It is going to be great - never been to Indy Raceway Park before!

Last year autocross/road race prepped cars had an advantage, but this year I think all out drag cars will have a decent chance at winning the overall -- especially if they have a ton of $$ dumped into them. They will put down great #s for the drag, get great scores for the car show, and do so-so in the AX.

But maybe the best of both worlds can be built? I know of a certain 700+whp EVO with national caliber autocross suspension that might be competing . . . now I just gotta teach him how to drive the thing

If you remember at WWII, there was ALOT of down time, sitting around, etc.... We want this one fast paced, FUN to do, and FUN TO WATCH! This one is our "feeler gauge", if we can run it smoothly, we plan on making it a 2 day event next time, and possibly opening up more "areas" to do it. This will be our "spring board" to bigger and better things!!! Can't wait to reveal the "long term goals". This event will be won by an average joe! The deep pocket shops, will compete against "Other" deep pocket teams, and fight over their own trophies. *Winged Warrior Tuner shop Champion*. People like you are the ones who will help the "Team" win overall, and there are Class trophies in ALL CLASSES!! 1/2/3rd for TEAM USA and same for TEAM IMPORT. More complicated intricacies for next events, but you will be HIGHLY IMPRESSED!

To clarify on the DRAG RADIALS, you CAN use them!!! But they have to have 60 treadwear or higher. Nitto 555R's have a 100 TW rating for example, so their fine. Hope this clears the air a bit. Now go sign up.
