alright alright i think he probably has the idea by now. and it does not seem to be putting a dent into his pursuit of the evo. a few things to take into account:
-this whole thread is bull because the thread starter said he has been saving since 8th grade for the car and he says he only has 9 bucks cause he has gotten in three crashes. Theres no maturity in the thread starter
-at 17 you cannot afford to drive this car unless you baby the hell out of it. you will be pulled over every week. thus, you won't enjoy the car anyway
-are your plans of the future college? at most colleges you can't have a car freshman year easily. at some schools it is pointless all together
-whatever happened to earning your way? Working towards a goal makes you appreciate what you have so much more.
my advice- work hard, study hard, know where you will be in a few years, and then examine if that lifestyle will include a street legal race car. if you do get the car, congrats, but please respect it and for god's sake take care of yourself

If you have $10 left from those minor damage costs than you're going to hate your evo since it's going to cost you just as much to do maintainance every 6-8 months..let alone the cost of gas money.
I seriously/honestly think this car might not be the right choice for you..for now.
Get something cheap and enjoy your youth doing something else like going to concerts, road trip with friends and so on.
A car is not worth working *** off every two weeks just to pay for the monthly payments.
I did that when I had a 3000GT VR4 when I was 20 years old and would not have done it if I knew what I know now.
There are more important things in life than driving an evo.
Whatever choice you make, good luck and stand by your choice.
BTW, I didnt want to sound like an *** but I just had to tell you these things.

Oh man, one of the best ones got deleted because of its outlandish claims...
That one was posted in a winter rims thread. Basically he reported that you shouldnt get rims that are heavier than stock ones, because the struts will be damaged from having to push the heavier rims back towards the ground. My favorite part was his comment "everyone knows this, its been talked about hundreds of times." Im not even going to get started on how insane that comment is...
Back to the point, I would love to see pics upon his purchase.
If you get an Evo, it will be only a matter of time before you create a thread on evom similar to this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=233031
