Aesthetic cons of the EVO 8 (US)?
people have a point with the cruise control... I use mine probably 2 or 3 times a day. Its a hella good way to avoid speeding tickets. Especially late at night when nobody else is on the road, and you look down to find yourself going 15 over the speed limit. I know for a fact that in the areas just outside of houston the highway patrol officers are *******s. They'll pull you over for 3 over, and give you a ticket for going 20 over. Ive been pulled over 3 times for speeding outside of houston when I was going the speed limit. Cruise control is a very useful thing to have. when you live in the area Damon lives in...

IDK what you guys are talking about, b/c currently i don't have my car.. but all my friends and my brothers friends and i don't ever recall them using cruise controll.. it is very uneccessary... if u take long road trips.. then dont get the EVO.. it has a harsher ride and quick steering.. but if u really want it.. its not that big of deal..spend 400 dollors and get it.. if u have 30k to spend on a EVO, im sure you can spend an extra 300-600 for cruise controll...
all i really see here is people (for the most part) being infantile about a feature they dont have on their car, and trying to justify their purchase with "go buy a STi!". all i was saying is that i think its poor judgement for Mitsu to not at least make this an option for the car... i think i would still opt for the car over the STi on the basis of handling and looks, but it definatly wont be my daily driver for the sake of the lack of CC.
I agree with Damon. Although I personally never use cruise control, there are many folks that are required to drive their cars for long distances which is where having cruise control would be nice or for those time when you don't want to worry about exceeding the speed limit.
Even the new GT3 (my personal dream car) has cruise control but only available AS AN OPTION. It is not standard as most GT3 buyers would not want it but Porsche still made it available as an option for those that require it. And there is no better driver's car than a GT3 IMHO.
Having said that, not having cruise control would not stop me from getting the EVO. It is the best $30k performance car on the market!

I'm not trying to justify MY purchase. I think it's stupid for Subaru to not include a radio in the STI (although it is a $500 option). For me, I'd rather have a radio than cruise. If cruise is that important, skip the Evo.

So what if it the Evo doesn't have cruise control. It is the best track car you can buy for like 2x the money. Besides, you can get that added on anyway...

not to offer the CC. I cannot believe so many of you are blasting people for wanting a very useful item. And don't give me none of that getan Sti crap. I want an EVO and I got one, I got news for you: the car is quite comfortable for long trips. outside of the road noise because of the stiff bushings, it really is a very nice road car. The CC would have been a very nice option to have. As others have said it, it's good speeding ticket insurance and makes driving long distances less tiring and a little safer....I've been driving for 40 years, and CC is only second to AC (except in a roadster) in comfort for long drives.. I've done it both ways and I wish the EVO had a CC, and no, I don't want to half *** after market ugly add-on crap on it... I guess I'll tough it out and learn to live without it, oh well......

Love the maturity in this forum, keep it up guys. Reminds me why I won't own Mitsubishis.

This is a performance car not a GT. Hence, not necessarily the best choice for long trips.
Sure, it would have been nice to have CC, but it simply does not fit the purpose of the car IMHO.
Subaru felt otherwise, made the STi's suspension a touch more refined (read: softer) and added CC. I personally don't understand the purpose, but Subaru seems to feel the STi will be used for cross-country trips...
Point being: Decide what feaures are truly important to you in a high-performance car (again, this is not a GT)

what type CC does it have?Sorry for getting of the subject everyone else. I have a Evo but if a F1 car has CC I may need to get one.
this is kind of a silly argument....
you can easily have CC added to your car for the princely sum of $300 by your dealer or any decent stereo shop.
you can also easily add a stereo to your STi.
both Subaru and Mitsubishi deleted certain items from their respective cars to get them at competitive price points. imo they deleted the right things vs. installing cheap brakes or seats that are expensive to replace.
