Hey all,

Does anyone know if the led in the blue racer Defi gauges can be changed easily or not? I'm in the market for a matching gauge and really miss my old Defi D. It matched the interior and looked really good at the same time. Of course defi had to go and discontinue the D boost gauge. If this can't be done I think I will go with the stewart warner, but I thought I would ask. Thanks

 

i think they are just like the defi D's arent they ? which would make the face blue ? and then they just light up with a bulb ? or am i wrong and they are backlit like the BF's

 

On my old Defi D guage box it says "amber LED illumination" so I assumed they use a colored LED. I could be wrong since I haven't seen a blue racer gauge in person yet.

cannot be changed. I called Tein and asked them directly.

 

Yea I talked to Evan at 42 Draft Designs a while back, he also stated the Defi units have a special LED, on top of the fact they are not the easiest things to crack open.
