Evo to play in the Canadian winter
Today seems to be a snow day... I woke up to see.. some snow! I thought I might have a brown xmas here in Calgary, Alberta!
ambystom1: Do you have a white lancer es? As I was heading to the fiancee's house to pick her up I saw a White Lancer with different tail lights, an Evo spoiler, and I think a VG.
I was a few cars behind.. too bad I couldn't have driven up just to say hi.

Yesterday it dumped snow pretty good. Car was covered, even after I brushed it off the day prior, due to snow. I find myself dominating the roads with the Blizzak WS-50's at 235/45/17. Yes, those are the tires that I bought and installed. The WS-50's with a '03 LanEVO work pretty well indeed. The car just tends to climb out of whatever snow drift blew against my car. I can drive at the posted speed limit without fear, as I pass everyone else. Its a solid, traction finding experience. She just pulls through the snow, ruts, ice with confidence and direction.
HOWEVER, one must still respect Mother Nature and what she can do. Black ice is black ice and 0 grip on all fours is still an uncontrolled slide, regardless of the vehicle. Do the tires slip? Yup, with black ice under a covering of snow, they still loose traction, but I seem to have a really good combination of vehicle and tires that surpasses most other vehicles out there on the road.
Its really amazing. Just point and shoot. Steer where you want to go, and give it some gas. I've seen my share of fish tailing vehicles the past few days, but I don't get that happening. I can just drive. Ok ok, there are some corners that require studs to prevent sliding, so always drive to the conditions.
That, or everyone is just driving WAY under their capability in the snow.
But let me tell you, its a great feeling that the car shows me that it has so much confidence in what it can do. I need a few rainy/snowy track days
Then I got spark plug failure. Do you know how hard it was for Lethbridge Mitsubishi to find a set of NGK iridium spark plugs? Actually, they couldn't. But they did find Champions... CHM9201. $8.11/each online. Or $15/each through the dealer. I guess that's "Lethbridge" prices. I'm not totally supprised as its not really a tuner town.

They have footprints on them lol it's kinda cute.
Anyway snow is coming any day... Screw going to it... it's coming to me!!!

Platnium Mitsubishi has apparently been installing such addons for such occasions. -16°C is the expected coldest for my duration. Its been quiet warm, actually. Other than the snow we've had which was only at freezing.
Wow Lethbridge? I assume you were driving through to Sask?
Funny thing.. if you would have messaged me I was there for the 24/25 and I actually do have 2 sets of NGK plugs I bought to bring back for a friend that has troubles getting them for his DSM!! Haha

Actually, not quite. Staying in Medicine Hat with occasional trips to Lethbridge and Calgary. Heading back to Lethbridge next week for a plug wire set as well. The dealer was fearing strongly that I was arcing through the insulation and boots when I lost the outer electrode on a spark plug about 2km outside Taber, AB.
