Correct me if I'm wrong, but the holdback on the Evo isn't much if anything at all, right?

Wow, you must have a really good relationship with your dealer because without financing the car, there's almost no incentive to sell you the car for 1200 below MSRP. Of course, I have no idea what things are like in Hawaii. Why didn't you just finance the car at a low rate and put that cash into a mutual fund or something? It doesn't make much sense to dump that much cash into something that depreciates so quickly.

Because my credits not good like yours, but with the money that I would've had to spend for monthy payments, that will be invested believe me.

Sweet dude. I guess in Hawaii it's hard to do a dealer swap if their Evo isn't selling...

Actually I didn't get it through a Hawaii dealer, since they're only allocated one evo per month and are very adamant about selling for their asking price of $42K. I made a deal with a mainland dealer in the midwest.

well...i live in Ohio also and i am in the process of selling my 1994 Honda Prelude SI so i can either get a used M3, z06 or a new EVO8 and i have came to agreement with a dealer in Northern Ohio for $29,500.00 plus T+T with spoiler and moonroof. I believe that is somewhere around $1,302.00 off MSRP. It did take me going to 3 dealers but obviously thats well worth it. I am not sure which way i want to go. I love how the EVO is much more of a drivers car than the Z06. I feel like i am in a capsule with a motor and no outside visibility (except for over the huge hood) when driving the very fast Z06 vette. Well either way i had to expain that the "blue by you" color was the one i wanted with our without sunroof. They explained to me that they had one coming in next month and that it was the "only one" bla bla bla. Anyway after i expressed to them that my local dealer had a blue one in the showroom albiet with accessories i didn't want. They came down. I am just undecided. I don't wanna lose that deal and i gotta have that blue. I am just wanting to kinda see how the reliability goes over the next month or two.

E36 or E46 M3? Also in ohio make sure you figure about $600 for a set of blizzaks in the winter. They're all great cars but so different that once you make your decision I doubt you'll be regretting it down the road.

It would be a E36 prolly either a 95 low mileage or a little higher mileage 98 5-spd coupe. I would not drive either car in the snow or anything like that. That is my issue....i can't decide since they are sooooo different. I also have had a few over 40cars in the past 7 years and haven't found anything to please me enough to keep it. So...i am concerned that i will lose a lot of money if the evo8 falls in value a year later like the wrx did. Just trying to think ahead since i go through so many cars from S2000s to 300zx TTs to Jetta 1.8T to SC400 lexus. I can never keep anything and am thinking if i stay with a used M3 or vette than i should lose much since its already lost its substantial initial value.

My only suggestion is that if you've been able to survive taking a bath on all those cars without going to jail or losing all of your credit, then you can probably be fine not worrying about it. But used is probably the way to go, if it's any consolation, I am sure that you'll see a few evos used next year when people realize that they made a purchase that they can't afford.

Damn yo...thats a killa deal. thats invoice i believe. Where can i contact to get a deal like that on a Blue one? Let me know via IM if you would. Also, i don't lose money. I buy cheap and sell high. Or i find people that wanna trade cars and have been soooo fortunate to only lose money on prolly 3 or 4 occasions. I am a car salesman by trade. So that kinda helps also....hehe
