Black
For those of you that have black....
Do you regret getting black? Does every blemish show up? I've never had a black car so I dont know exactly what it entails.
I wanted a blue evo but the one i was looking at was sold before I had a chance to even look at it. There are no other blue evos within 100 miles of me so I've turned to my second choice.....black. I'm also considering red.

The black Evo looks awesome when it's clean, but keeping it clear might be a real pain. Dust settled on a black car can be easily seen, and any hand prints or grease marks just jumps out at you when you look at them from the right angle. My friend owns a black G35 coupe, he said he would never buy a black car again since it's so much work to keep it clean.
If you don't mind the work, then go for the black Evo, with smoked head lights and tail lights, it'll be one sexy beast

I can't personally comment on the Black on the Evo, but my last 4 cars have been Black, so I know what its about.
Black, and any dark color for that matter, is quite a bit harder than other colors to keep clean. Because of dark colors high ammount of reflectivity, they show every spot, rain drop, and ounce of dust on the car. But, when they are clean, they look just outstanding.
The best purchase that I've ever made for car cleaning has been the "California Car Duster" that I bought when I had my '98 240SX (black, of course) in Phoenix. Down there, in the land of no rain, it was all I needed for cleaning the car. I would dust the car every morning, and then on the weekend, I would use some of that Quick Detailer spray. That was all I needed in that climate.
Now in Omaha, where the weather can change on you faster than an Iverson crossover, it takes a bit more patience. Every 3 months or so I put the full super-wash and wax on the car to get it real good. Inbetween those times, I just use the quick spray and the duster.
When I put the super wash on the car, I really give it a good scrubbing. I wash with dish soap to get all the old wax and dirt off and get a nice starting surface. Then I use the Clay bar to get all the grit off. Then I just put a couple coats of Gold Class on, and I'm done. Kind of a bore sometimes, but in the midwest with our weather, its what you have to do.
So, I'd say that if you don't mind spending a little time with your car getting it to look nice, Black will reward you. But, if you just don't like spending time doing that, and I know plenty of people that don't, then I would advise against it. Its a great color, but just needs some care and attention. If you can give it the time, it will give you a hot looking car. Hope that helps.

I have black and I've had black cars before. But unfortunately I fell for the beautiful shine you can get with black once again. It collects every dust partical for miles around like a magnet. I don't even drive mine that much (1900 miles since Feb 5th) and I still can't keep it clean enough to be satisfied. I love black, but would pick silver or blue next time.

Black is best looking but requires far more work to keep it looking that way. Every flaw will be magnified. You can even see when there is too much wax on the car. I've had 2 black cars before and would rinse them off and dry them everyday just to keep them from looking filthy.
I got silver this time because it hides dirt and minimizes flaws (chips, scratches, etc...) better than any other color offered.
