that is why I`m saying bye bye to my A4 and going to get
Evo~

A stage 2 S4 with 330 hp is actually a stage 2+ with ecu/chip, catback, and DP/cats. I owned an 01' S4 with stage 2 ABT ECU and Milltek catback, supposedly making in the 310-315hp range.
The S4 was a high-speed monster and, as I recently posted on another thread, I have seen 165mph in that particular S4. Launching the car was no fun though, and my best 0-60 gtech times were in the 5.2 sec range.Stock handling and brakes were pretty pitful on the S4. Overall an excellent "fast" luxury car. Unfortunately a very "dead" feeling car with little fun-to-drive factor. Prestige and class yes... fun not really.
Having owned two S4's, a 98' e36 m3/4(sedan), 00' MCoupe, 02' M2-stage 3 WRX, and stage 2 GTI 337,
here's how I would stack them up if I had all of the aforementioned cars lined-up.
I would rate them:
1)EVO
2)MCoupe (shark injected with CAI)
3)E36 M3/4 (stock)
4)GTI 337 (stage 2 oberscheider w/Milltek turboback and hyperboost DV)
5) WRX (M2/stage 3 kit)Very fast but drivability wasn't great with the big turbo.
6)S4 stage 2 (stage2 ABT/Milltek/forge DV's/Tanoga SS)
Again this comparison is with an emphasis on performance and overall fun to drive as opposed to luxury fit and finish!
If I couldn't have the EVO, and had to pick one of the others it would either be the e36 M3 or the GTI 337 which was a highly underrated car that was a major blast to drive in the twisties! The M-Coupe would actually be the next best to the EVO, but being a two-seater I would have to defer to the others first.

My buddy has a 2001 S4 and ive raced him many times in my evo. Everytime i come out about a hood length ahead, but that may be just because hes new at driving a manual and hes not to good at it. But id definitely go with EVO, pure perfomance.
