Why not just use a microfiber towel?

Really? Maybe your towel is a little rough or old?

I guess your idea of the plastic film is good. Maybe try looking into the the helmet visor "peel offs". Know what I'm talking about?

oh yeah, thats good. thanks a lot. Those scratches that are already there drive me nuts. If I put a clear film over the cluster I doubt they will still be visible.

Maybe only when the sun hits it at certain angles. Good luck.

Mine got scratched like that over time, I took the plastic piece off of the cluster and buffed and sealed it. Looks good as new

Yea, I use a microfibre towel and the Maguires interior detail spray, and I have no scratches at all. Heres my question though. Does anyone have any ideas about preventing scratches on the clock? Those scratch so easy, and I knew that from my old Lancer oZ so I tried to prevent it this time. Still got scratched somehow....

I think any part on the Lancer will scratch just by looking at it. I'm never owned a car with such cheap components.
