I could really give a crap how many Endeavors or regular Lancers or whatever else they sell there are on the lots. Does not know the cars are spoken for (ie. deposit put on them)? If this is their way of trying to keep demand high, I think they're going about it the wrong way. I would think the last thing they would want is to keep a potential Evo buyer waiting long enough to be able to go drive an STI.

Were you aware that Subaru dealers lose their allocation if they mark up. Is this an opinion, you passing on a rumor, or do you have concerete evidence?

Do you have proof of this? I had a friend looking at the STi have the dealer tell him it was $5,000 over MSRP.

The general sales manager at Balboa Subaru in San Diego has told me this on two seperate occasions in the past few weeks: once on the phone, and once face to face.

A salesman and a different sales manager told me the same story when I bought my WRX in August '01.

Was your friend maybe looking at the STi in Hawaii (since that's the only place it's out)? I hear that those cars aren't coming through SOA, so the policy might not apply.

That just sucks 992gnt. Me and Silver both have our Evo's...
Soon as ya get yours, it's time to get together.

What's the latest figure, 6-7 Evo's together?
(btw, this is in Cincy, if anyone wants to make a road trip just to hang out. No set date yet)

Well I was hoping to get together with everyone on the 25th at the Scarlet Oaks auto-x, but I won't have my car.

As for a count , there's Silver, Heggley, Broeli, me, StreetPower, plus one of you guys knows 2 others. I think me and StreetPower are the only ones without our cars though.

On a side note, I called 4 dealers yesterday from Columbus to Indy to Louisville and not one of them would sell me a car at MSRP. What's up with that

As it turns out, the dealers are overloaded with 'other' new cars so they've moved the ship date back to May 23 with a June 1 delivery date. This sucks!!!! I put my deposit down a month ago, which was 2 weeks after making a verbal agreement for the car.

StreetPowerEvo, this means your car is sitting too.
Which store is your car coming from? What car is it (do you have the VIN)? There's two-transporters worth of Evo's that shipped to central Ohio on the 5th and 14th. I can give you an estimated ship date, or if it did actually ship the actual ship date. After the shipdate delivery can take 7-10 days and there is no easy way to track cars in transit since multiple transport companies are used and they don't have systems that talk to each other. Hell, I wonder if some even know what computers are. Since 99.9% of cars are not pre-sold with customers anxiously waiting this is not usually an issue.

Estimated Ship Dates themselves can move around quite a bit just as a matter of course. Trigeek37's for example changed four times IIRC just in the first week of May with the last estimated date being the 13th. It actually shipped on the 8th which was a pleasant surprise. It's rare to have one move up 5 days like that at the last minute, but that's why they are called Estimated Ship Dates. The tracking system doesn't give Estimated Delivery Dates. We just extrapolate the number of days based on recent arrivals or the 7-10 rule. There is a lot of inventory in the system right now - this is the time everyone is stocking up for the summer selling season so it seems like things are taking a little bit longer than usual.

992, I'm 2 hrs. north of Indy....with a Red and Apex Silver I'll sell at MSRP...The Silver has the big wing and sunroof, and adds, but I'll still sell it at original MSRP ($30,812). Give me a call.

Thanks, but I think I'm going to wait for a BBY. I don't want to settle for another color this late in the game. I may as well just wait. I found 2 blues yesterday, both over sticker.

Yea, I have two other friends with a red and silver. I wanted to goto the auto-x as well to meet up, not looking too good. Funny thing is I called dealer yesterday and they said they didn't hear anything about a June 1 delivery . 992 maybe we should both meet up there and give them some together.

I'm going to PM the guy above with my VIN and see what he can find out.
