i hate my life
i hate my life
ok its been awhile but i just read a story about something along these lines and thought id share my experience
so i ordered a set of advan rs 18x10+15 for my voltex fenders
i bought them from a member paid for them and he shipped them via ups INSURED
well i get them the boxs didnt look too bad or anything so i sign for them and bring them in the house
i open the first box wheel looks amazing and i fall inlove
i leave the wheels down in my basement and go about my bussiness
later my friend comes over asking to see the wheels
so i show him and begin to open the other 3 boxs
well i get to the second box and as some of you may know these wheels are covered in a sort of protection bag looking at the bag i can clearly see a hole through i tear the wheel out and look
the lip of the rim is damaged SO badly it looks like the ups guy installed the wheels on his truck and then curbed them
the other 2 wheels both had DENTS in them not nearly as bad as the first but def bad
i call ups make a claim and they send someone over to pick them up
its now been 2 weeks these wheels were insured for there full amount
and i havent even got a confirmation saying they are infact cover the 2200$ that will be lost if they say no
best situation possible:they pay for the wheels i buy a new set wich takes 6-8weeks and i have my wheel
worst case scenario:they say nah not covering the wheels then i have to save up again and THEN wait 6-8 weeks for delivery
in the end i pretty much just want everyone to pray for me
this is now the 2nd time ups has destroyed something of mine i have nothing but bad luck with them and i think these guys need to take there jobs more serious and if packages are repeatedly damaged the people down the line should be punished i mean 3 of my 4 wheels were F\/cked and on the box it clearly states whats inside and says fragile all over it

How do you know it was UPS? I don't know who you bought them from, but is it possible they were not in the condition they were claimed to be? (Or maybe it was a vendor, not sure from reading.) I'm just asking because why would the UPS guy bother to mount tires, "install the wheels and curb them," all for maybe a day's worth of road time?
Is just returning the wheels and making a claim with your credit card company a possibility?

haha i was kidding with the ups mounting them and damaging them
they have very little dents with chipped paint
the wheels came to me with the stickers still on them and no signs of ever being installed
like scratches were the lugnuts go ETC
also i spoke with the ups store they were shipped from and he had inspected them and the packaging before they went out these wheels were MINT

So do you want to know a few things everyone can do to help these problems we keep having?..... Next time your driving down the road dont cut off the ups, fedex, and or USPS; truck, van, car etc.. Next time you get something deliverd to your door thank them, tell them you apprecaite the fact they take care of your packages and how it mean a lot to you to see someone cares about their job. These nice things make them think about their job. They dont thow packages around and beat the living hell out of them because they hate their job, cause they get paid well, and the have awesome benifits.... They do it because all they see everyday and all day long is GREEDY, IMPATIENT people all day long.. . People who want their package and want it now... I can see how their job must suck.. Honestly its got to be tiring doing what they do and to get each and every package to its destination and have the person open their door do grab their shipment and to close the door behind them it goes to show how america can be a greedy, impatient country.
I ALWAYS tell my UPS,FEDEX,USPS service people that i apprecaite their work and how they take care of my packages. And i have great luck...

Sometimes claims can take a long time to follow thru. Just dont leave it alone and forget about it. Call them back every week or so. They will get you your money. As long as there was insurance on it and you treat the person on the other end with respect and understand that they are just doing their job and they didnt damage your hood. Dont worry you will get your money back.

I had a similar problem when I had an audio reciever repaired by Sony. They sent it back, it was damaged by the shipper, I sent it back and they sent me another, and another, and another, and another because they were all damaged by the shipper.
The reason is that the shipping companies have rules that state that it has to be packaged sufficiently well to survive a drop out the back of a truck. Of course, most packages see several trucks and get pushed out several times!
I ended up keeping the 5th reciever because the dent in it was smaller and Sony upgraded it and I didn't want to wait.
It's not UPS's fault they did what they're allowed to do. Blame the shipper for insufficient packaging.

That's a nice theory but, there are still people in distribution centers that don't have to deal with customers that never see daylight and are pissed off that the package has to go through first.
