Any EVO pre-2k3 US legal ???

I noticed that it is impossible to import EVO's from the States to Canada but it is clearly written that it is 2k3 + models that are not legal. IF pre2k3 EVO's were legal in the US, then legally I could import an EVO into Canada. Is this some sort of loophole I could use or am I getting my hopes way too high up???

Thanks for the info!

PS : I tried searching the forum for this info but couldn't find anything useful.

With 15 year import law, the build dates on evo I should allow you to import them from overseas if you are so inclined. This is how all of the legal r32 cars make it to canada. I think a lot of people have tried to get the 2003+ Evo and the only way is to keep it registered in the US.

So pre 2k3 EVO's are for racing and off-road use only I guess. But why is there some pre2k3 EVO's in the US? Is it because they are used off-road only?

Yeah R32's are legal here with the 15 year old law and next year the 1st gen EVO's are going to be elligible too but I was looking for a more recent EVO (2000-2002) and was trying to find some sort of loophole to get one here... ah well, maybe I'll just HAVE to get a R32 GTR...

florida has many loopholes where you can register imported cars of any year. People have claimed to have legaly registered r33's, r34's, s15's, and 180sx's. I'm realy not sure how legal it is but I've never heard of any stories where people have had there imported cars impounded. You might wanna check out takara motors in florida, they have a few r32's for sale and could possibly import older model evo's.
