How come? because they have less bends in them? or are they made from a different less heat soaking material?

Another thing... whats the torque on the turbo outlet pipe? and does the gasket get installed wet or dry?

I tightened the new one in tight but am a little weary..

the hard pipes do not expand like the rubber ones and they flow better, i.e. less friction/obstruction=less heat.

Just to let all you internet (jockeys) Einsteins know, you are DEAD WRONG about the intercooler... If you can get gains on a stock turbo in Texas/Arizona heat, can you imagine what it is like where this car is? Or did anyone even pay attention to that when they were regurgitating their internet drivel?

The torque on that one is 19 +/- 1 Nm, or 14 +/- 1 ft-lb, so be easy on it! It is installed dry, if it leaks after install use a VERY small amount of sealant. However, make sure that there is no "squish" as anything to the inside may effect flow.

spot on!

I realized a good difference here in Bangladesh where temperatures are steady 37-40' C. I installed an ARC intercooler. AND here we cannot get higher than 89 Octane, so keeping the intake temperature down was more important.

The Spec M is a bar and plate design. I myself and looking at this intercooler, and wasn't too sure about bar+plate vs tube fin. Just incase you guys wanted to know the dimensions of the cooler in inches they are 23" x 11" x 3" .

dxbtune, did you have to do any cutting of the undertray? or have to modify anything for it to fit? or was it a direct install?

The bumper sticks out 1/4 '' The only thing you need to do is get extended bolts for the 2 front screws (the ones that have litle plastic covers preventing access to them) otherwise the intercooler fits snug and all the other attachments fit nicely aswell.

Sounds good. Would you be able to post a picture of the front end of your car?
