I love this knob so much. It feels just right going from gear to gear. I just got mine yesterday.

Just the boost guage so far. I have a matching fuel pressure guage ready to mount... if anyone ever makes a decent pillar pod for our cars. That and an oil pressure guage are in my plans to add.
The manaul specifically states that the shift knob should not be used as a handrest. My buddy drives an M3 (E36) and has indicated that the weight of the shift knob is precisely engineered and any variance in weight leads to preamature failure of the shifting mechanism (I wasn't paying attention to details). Variance in weight includes resting of the hand on the shifter, or the swapping of the shift knob
So, my question is regarding a heavier shift knob - will it lead to premature wear in any of the bearings, or linkages in the shifting system? I'm not normally this paranoid, but then again, I don't normally buy Evos

Thanks for the info lil'evil. I'll be sure to check it out. One of the first things I took issue with on the Evo was the shifter. My wife drives a Cooper S which has a really great feeling weighted shift knobs that makes shifting a pleasure. I've grown accustomed to the Evo's knob, but it felt a little small and lightweight initially. The Greddy ought to just do the trick
