low profile jacks ftw!

my 2g's both sat pretty low but i think the main jacking point on a 2g DSM is closer to the front than on an evo. IIRC.

I've looked at a few places for a low profile jack, but can't seem to find one. could you point me in the direction of one?

Also, it would be easier with ramps because i'm too lazy to take off the panel from the underbody cover or whatever it's called

I dunno HOW low profile you need, but this one works pretty good. you can get them lower and nicer.. and even aluminum but they'll cost a great deal more.

Thanks. But the thing is, for anything besides suspension work (oil changes) it would be easier to use ramps. and then for suspension work (hopefully not very often) i can just use that stupid scissor jack and my full size jack. those ramps cost less than even the harbor freight jack.

That thing is a piece of ****. I had one of these and it broke and it started to leak all over the place. Replaced with a Craftsman, never had to worry about it again.

Ramps are a lot faster. I only jack the front if I need to take the wheels off.

Thought I would share this with you also. They're definitely more expensive, but if space doesn't allow a true lift, these work great. I bought mine with the castors, etc. and it allows me to roll the car around on the ramps/lift without having to drive it off, move it, then drive it back on. I use it in my shop and keep the mower and 4 wheeler on it when I'm not using it. Lift height is only about 20", but it allows me to get under the car easily. Also, you can bottle jack the car up with the optional cross plate. I don't sell them or anything like that, Don't even really know the people other than I bought one. I just thought it might work for someone else. www.kwiklift.com

People, stop being lazy and just buy a floor jack. For christ's sake.

dude i have a floor jack, but it won't fit under my front lip so i have to use the scissor jack to partially lift it so i can fit the floor jack underneath. THen jack it up, then put jack stands underneath, just for an oil change. it would be way easier with ramps.
