Was reading about the World's most respected companies and found that Mitsubishi was 1 of 3 companies with the worst rep!Forbes List
"The bottom end of the list included a few corporations whose names have become synonymous with bad behavior. Tyco's (nyse: TYC - news - people ) reputation hasn't recovered from its corporate scandals; its reputation score is 52.61. Exxon Mobil (nyse: XOM - news - people ) may be popular with investors, but consumers care more about gas prices than stock prices and gave it the third-worst ranking in the United States. Cigarette maker Altria (nyse: MO - news - people ) fared poorly as well.
The company with the worst reputation worldwide was Halliburton (nyse: HAL - news - people ), with a score of 21.86. The defense contractor was one of only three companies, including Sweden's Skandia and Japan's Mitsubishi Motors (other-otc: MMTOF - news - people ), to achieve a dubious feat: a reputation score below 30."

but mitsubishi makes alot of things other then cars....they make appliances and they have other companies that make soft drinks and stuff. I know for fact that the mitsu TV's are junk and that the soft drinks come unsweetened(all of them).
I think people are still sour about WWII. Overall, other than the evo's and 1g and 2g DSM's, what does mitsubishi make that anyone actually wants, although there older crt TV's were pretty good, the newer ones suck.

Best regards

Toyota and Honda's have a great Company rep ....... so who's excited about driving any of their current US market offerings ???
I don't know of anything else I own that I would expect warranty work on after I had changed the same amount of stuff on. Mitsy fixed everthing for me that broke, that wasn't mod related.
I decided when I first started modding that I was on my own. Mits still covered some paint issues (twice), and a 5th gear syncro.
-yep:
Paint's Cheap - including the Brembo's paint
Interior is modest (don't get me started on that again
)
Clutches Suck - most knew it going in (just the cost of doing business with an Evo)
But overall, not an uncommon amount of service bulletins, and (overall) pretty damn easy to work on (haven't done a clutch myself yet - and I may change that tune after I do a Quaife or Mits LSD this winter).
I still love my 03 (got it 9/17/03) .... My only complaint is that I can't afford a IX right now - or a cream puff 05. I would jump into another one, or even a 2nd one without even thinking if, I had the money, or actually if I didn't have my current debt to income ratio.
I wouldn't buy any other of their cars though.
The original poster of this thread brings up a fact of life with a Mits car. You're wise to think about it and make sure you are ready for the ride once you start modding.
(Mitsee Dealer's tryin' to catch me "ridin' dirty")

IMO that is because they reverted back to technology for the engine and suspension that they used in the early 90's
