RMR intake iinstalled on EVO

Ok after 2 hours of hard labor, I took out my factory airbox stuff and even those impossible nuts that u need an "air powered screwdriver" or somethin to take off and put on the RMR filter with the bracket. After installing it and letting it idle for 10 minutes, i took it for a spin with some friends and OMG . WOOSH is the only word i can say to describe it. You will want to bust a nut everytime u hit the clutch to shift. I think everyone should get this and install it themselves because you will feel proud like I did, this being my first mod on any car (im only 17 ).

I have the RMR kit also - unlike the idiotic busher and the trurbotrix one I bought (which don't have hold down brackets) - this one has a braket - which I like those air flow meters are prob very costly

Don;t know how it took you 2 hours - - it took me 15 minutes
!!!!!

It does sound nice eh - and it really cleans up the look of the engine compartment !

Al,

You must either own your own shop or have too much money. You should be doing reviews for EVO aftermarket parts as it seems that you have probably already tried most of them by now, multiple exhausts, intakes, intercoolers, etc....

No, I don't think the piping kit is for sale yet. Also, I will post some pics (will be pretty bad quality i would say) in about 10 minutes because I have to go and take them..

I just took some pics from inside my garage and the pictures SUCK because they are way too dark. I WOULD take my car outside and take the pics but it is raining right now and I think I'm still under a tornado warning lol...I'll get some pics up later today....by the way, to those that have installed the RMR intake, did you guys have to take out that GOLD bracket thing under the airbox?

Which RMR intake did you get? Just the filter/bracket, or piping as well?

Would like to see the pics as well

I just got the filter and the bracket to answer streetpowerevo. And I do not notice any negative effects...I do not have a boost gauge to monitor the loss of boost but the turbo timer I will be installing has a boost reading and I will use that to see.

Performance difference is hard to gauge (the noise is by far the biggest difference) but it seems to pull slightly harder - it must be breathing easier. One cool thing is that it's like an audible boost gauge - you can tell exactly when the boost kicks in etc. I like it a lot.
