5 speed or 6 speed?

I do a lot of highway driving and am missing a 6 speed tranny. My ix 5 spd has 2500 miles on it and never abused.

Doesn't the six speed actually get worse mileage?

I'm not sure here, but are you trying to do a buy/sell thing here?

The 5 speed version has better listed highway mileage then the 6 speed

5 Speed is perfect unless you doing over 170MPH.

the 6th gear will put you at a lower rpm, which makes it perfect for highway cruising.

and yes, the 5 speed has a listed higher mpg.

Do you think just sending it to TRE and get the final drive done ? wouldn't it be cheaper ?

I'd love to trade you but the 6-speed only drops your cruising RPM in top gear by about 100 rpms. I cruise at about 3300 rpms at 80 and my friend's 5-speed Evo cruises at about 3400 rpm at 80. I'd keep the 5-speed if I were you.
