climate control!?!?!?!?!?!

when i first got the car the hot/cold knob was really hard to switch back and forth and you would really have to reef on it to get it to either hot or cold. has anyone else had this problem??? i got so pissed cuz it got stuck in the middle and it was cold out so i went to turn it again and the plastic stud friggan broke!!!!!!!!!!! i havent taken it apart or even thought about it until now but does anyone know what this might be? thanks for any input guys

I have the exact same problem on my 03. It hasnt broke or anything, but its a struggle to get the knob from one side to the other, so im hesitant when I do it. I thought it was just mine, but I guess not....

I had this problem in one of my other cars, I found that turning off the heat/ac/fan freed up the tension in the knob(s). im not sure why but it worked. Did you guys have the fan on when you noticed this ?

you all have the 03 climate controls. there is a cable slider you can get from a 04 or newer that wont have this problem. the location is under the dash driver side, where your right knee would be. DEVO330 has the part number and he is doing the conversion on his car. send him a PM for further info.

what a horrible design by mitsu!!!! i was looking at it and there is the most unessacary rise right in the middle(between hott and cold) can be fixed with a dremel or a small die grinder!!
