Evo's yokohama Advans FTL... *pic*

Here's the story:

- I buy new EVO IX RS
- Car drifts towards the right
- Get aligment done
- Car still drifts towards the right
- Dealer rotates the tires
- Car no longer drifts
- 5,000 miles go by, time to rotate tires again
- Car drifts towards the right
- Dealer says I need to take it to a yokohama dealer to replace the faulty tire
- Discounttire hooks me up with 2 new tires to replace the front ones, all under warranty (apparently they messed up and someone there may get fired, but I got 2 new Advans installed for $50)
- Car no longer drifts (ok maybe a little to the left now but that may have been because of the wind tonight)

Also - I noticed this on the old left tire when it was off the car...

EvoM... WTF?

maybe you ran over something. is it a hole or a chunk of ripped rubber?

defaulty tire is a possibility...and your older tires are probably worn out more one one side, causing your car to "drift" to the side

drifting is getting to be a popular thing to do..... .....to me it's just a fast way to wear out your tires

I thought it was normal for evos to pull to the right a little.... ? mine pulls to the right very slightly and i had an alignment after my springs were put in. The car also did it when it was 100% stock

It could very well be that the alignment is fine, but the road is slightlly angled to the right for drainage.

I've noticed that my car is *extremely* sensitive to this.

Roads that my sentra goes dead straight on, the evo will drift to one side if left alone. It's not the car actually pulling though, because it does the exact opposite on the other side of the road, and is neutral on flat highways.

Not saying that was the problem for the OP, just a comment on something I've noticed as well.

go out to an open road... take you hands an inch away from the steering wheel in first year around 3500 rpm's and floor it...

the steering wheel will cut the right everytime reallly fast... get read to grab it after it spins

my audi use to do it to the left... it's really wierd and i cant understand why cars do that... every awd car will do it one way or another

wtf?

it's hard to find a road that the evo will go perfectly straight on....any small imperfection in the road and the tires will grip it and take off to the left or right...just keep your hands on the wheel and that will keep it straight

correct inflation pressure has always makes a huge difference. on the evo the backs need less pressure than the fronts 32 front 29psi rear. I doubt the tire rack guys or dealer does it that carefully
