Fuel pump w/o any other mods?

I'm planning to start buying mods and installing them one at a time. Is it ok to replace the fuel pump with the Walboro w/o any other mods? Will the car run the same?

Thanks,
Charlie

Yes, you can add the Walboro at any time. You must add it if your about to get tuned.

I dont agree that you must add it before a tune. Im running the shortlist of mods in my sig with a tune and no fuel pump. I thought fuel pump is needed with higher boost levels? could be wrong. I would advise a tune after the fuel pump install.

It looks like you have an 06. IX's already have a good fuel pump. Its the 8's that have to be upgraded.

No, it makes no sense to install the fuel pump until it's time to use it. Don't install mods one at a time unless they can stand alone. If you buy the fuel pump, don't install it until it's time. It's time when you have an MBC and a tune and are running increased boost.

Apparently if your planning on running a little higher than stock boost, the ix fuel pump will run fine for a month or so and slowly start to weaken?! (this is not a fact this is what the guy who sold me the pump said)

In My case, I changed to the walbro 255 because i know for a fact i have the modding virus which means im going to run higher than stock boost levels sooner or later. I havent picked up the car yet since its been changed ..... so right back to the original question

Ive been told : it'll run a bit richer at WOT, and your fuel trims might be slightly off, but it won't hurt anything..

Any other opinions?

I was told by both Buschur and Al that you should get ecu flashed with the pump.
