Body shops are there to make $$$ too. But the problem is that they cut corners. Since my Lancer has been totaled 1 and a half times, I know what shops do to get around.

Car rolled... You should have got out of that car permanently. It'll never ever be the same. Guess I'm lucky my car is about returned to 95% of it's original glory.

Good luck there!

not to be an *** but how did you get scratches all over the interior and chips in your rotors. I find this wierd if you basically fell over in a ditch. Some insurance company's consider a roll over a complete loss automatically some do not. If you have a good insurance company they will stand behind the work if you took the car to the shop they recommended. Good luck.

Take it back and calmly explain that you're not happy with the car and you want to go over it with someone. Then do a step-by-step over all the problems, no matter how minor, and do a road test. When you're done, hand them written/printed copy listing all of the problems. Give them a chance to fix the problems before you escalate and start getting unpleasant.

Chances are, they cut some corners but will fix most of the problems if you ask. But don't expect it to be perfect. If that bugs you, sell it.

The biggest thing I've learned dealing with insurance companies (thanks to my wife) is that first and foremost they are a business and their sole purpose is to make money not just from our premiums but by paying out as little as possible. They will screw you any way they can and some ways they shouldn't be able to if you don't know the laws and your coverage.

Never take their first offer. Don't sign anything until you are satisfied. Legally they have to reimburse you for the loss of value of your car on top of the repairs if they decide to fix the vehicle.

You might be screwed since they already did the repair work and I'm guessing you probably had to sign something to get them to cut a check for it.

I would still fight to get the car back to being as close to "right" as you can.

if a rolled car really is repairable and it is done right it can be a good as it was-- it just usually costs too much. you have problems because it wasn't done right

the inside got all scratched up from the shattered glass and the bushes that went in the windshield and the rotors got scratched up because i pretty much had plants in them from when i hit the curb sideways. i have talked to the repair shop and am taking the car down tomorrow to have everything else fixed.

are you positive that they have to reimburse you for the loss of value of the car? how do i go about finding out if my insurance company will reimburse me because i am sure that the value of the car went down the toilet.
