I regret modifying my Evo 8 when I see my bill , but after you drive it and see the results it seems worth it. I have put a lot of money in the car changing setups, trying new things and thats where it really adds up, then the maintenance on a high HP car can really put a dent in your wallet.

If I were to do it all over again... I would have went with a more mild setup. I am doing that with my Evo IX. This is my daily driver, I wanted to put the least amount of mods in it, be reliable and quiet. Still running a stock clutch, cat back, intake, bov etc car runs smooth and quiet and runs mid 11's all day. That's faster than most of the production cars out there and I'm more than happy with this setup. So yes I would keep as much stock parts on the car as possible, have it tuned and enjoy it.

+1 I feel the same exact way! I smell this I smell that I hear this I hear that leaks a little oil here and there. But in the end it's all fun. What fun is a stock car?

I am happy with my mods. I did not do any that would hurt the performance of the car. However i know that the list will continue to go on.

It would just run better as most come with a reflash for the exact mods but I've found A LOT of problems as in boost leaks, tuning and more with the car in the last 2 weeks and it is running better than ever. I havent driven it with the leaks fixed yet but with the tuning, it has greatly improved.

I had a 2004 EVO 8, mods with parts & labor, almost $7,000. The car was awesome, but a pain in the a$$ driving to work on a daily basis. SO...I sold it, and bought a 2006 EVO 9 MR.

Mods on the EVO 8...Vishnu V390 mods, 3inch dp, cat back, 272 cams, fuel pump, Xede chip, Tilton twin plate, adj cam gears. The only mods that really hurt the daily driving of the car...was the 272 cams and the Tilton clutch.

When I start modding the EVO 9, I will just do a flash and exhaust. I am leaving the stock clutch in and leaving the cams alone. I will be quite happy with a mid 11's car as a daily driver....

Don't regret it, but speed is addictive. I question not keeping the Cobra especially with all of the cheap TT kits these days.

I don't regret it as I would have spent the money on something else anyway.
