I test drove an IX w/ SSL and loved it. It wasn't as smooth as my MR though. I got the "buyer profile" thing as well when I went for a test drive ... they just don't let people test drive if they aren't in the defined target market of the vehicle. The guy with me on the test drive urged me to floor it in 3rd ... that was the deciding factor. I bought mine 3 months later when I couldn't sell my Beetle privately.

Anyway, the 1st morning I drove it to work it was almost nailed by 2 pieces of sod that flew off the back of a pickup on the interstate. Luckily, I slowed a bit when the truck got into the left lane to pass and the sod had just enough time to flatten out on the road and I drove over it.

But, alas, my windshiled was cracked yesterday by a flying rock on the same drive to work. I don't even have 5k on the car. I hate commuting.

Sorry for the tangent.

I test drove a BBY '04 that had been traded in the day prior. We were out on the 215 highway and the sales guy was telling me about the car and how fast it was. He asked me how fast we were going when he noticed us whipping by cars. I told him we were doing probably about 90 or so, since I was in 5th gear. Looked down at the speedometer and it is at 130!

I told him I would be back in a month to buy a brand new one - and I did.

I just got mine a month ago....

I drove about 4 hrs to a dealer to get it...

Pull out of the dealership on the test drive.
Drove about 500 ft and stop at a stoplight.
Look in my rearview mirror and two blondes in an SUV are smiling and waving. They pulled up next to me and said "nice car".
I made a u-turn and went back to the dealer to sign the parers.

That would be funny if the dealership paid those girls to wave at you. That would be a great selling feature of a car, "Even the ladies love it."

Got mine brand new 2 weeks ago. My buddy has an 05 EVO with TBE, intake, BC and Buschar flash. I drove his EVO all the time, so I knew what they were all about. I went to the dealership, got my IX and drove it home with a grin on my face from ear to ear. I woke up the next day and looked out the window and could not believe that I really owned an EVO. 2 weeks later it still really hasn't hit me yet. Best car that I have ever owned.

Test drove in December last year, felt like the car was made for me.
Was driving to Fred Beans in PA after work, decided to stop by at Brad Benson.
3 hours later - drove home in my Evo 9 !!! couldn't sleep that night, still have the same stupid grin on my face when I remember I have one!

Funny thing is, first time I drove an Evo, I wound up buying a different car (an RX-8). It wasn't until about 3 years later that I realized that as nice as the RX-8 was, I didn't respond to it the way I had responded to that Evo.

By the time I decided to trade in the RX-8 on an Evo, the IX was out, and I liked the IX's interior (seat fabric and dash trim) way better. It was all good.

Anyway, my original test drive was amazing; I had never been in a sedan that felt so tight. What a great feeling.

Havent driven one yet. Been in one but never driven. Test drove the STi. Next is the evo in say, tomorrow morning. My dad is out of town so my friends dad is taking me =].

When i drove the STi I loved them unti l istarted looking at the evo. I would have bought the STi that day but the salesman was a dick. He didnt take us seriously because my mom was there with me and she test drove it. (We switched down the road.). He made it clear not to put over a mile on it. What a jerk.

My first Evo drive was a European-spec Evo VI back in 2000 with an upgraded engine management program from Ralliart. It was faster and had about 20 lbs more torque than my stock IX. Brakes were better also. THAT was when I decided I needed to eventually get this car. Was nice to know someone who worked for Mitsubishi corporate

First car I had was a 1990 galant. Second was a 1997 Eclipse RS. Third was a 1999 Eclipse GS.

At that point I decided I really wanted to stop wasting money on modding the eclipse and I'd just save it up for a real car with a better platform. I got my mind set on an Evo and after getting a raise one day decided it was time to go check them out. I'd seen about 4 on the road in a total of about 8 months. Went to test drive one and the salesman insisted I give the car a push but I was so afraid of messing something up I drive it regularly all the way to my house (2 miles from the dealership). I wanted to show it to my mom but she wasn't home. On the way back to the dealership I pushed it up to 5k and was amazed. So this is what power feels like huh? Addicting! Came back a few weeks later and bought the MR sitting in the show room. Last one in houston with 8 miles on it. Last Gray one at least. Made a ton of Evo friends ever since that day and have had a great time getting to know all of you guys.

After buying it, for about 2 months, I was so afraid of becoming a statistic (as in person who goes from slow car to fast car then wraps it around a tree) that I drove it like a baby.
