I know that the 100000 mile warranty I got had a disclaimer saying it didn't transfer to a new owner.

You should double check on warranty information before buying a car and expecting it to transfer over.

I am the second owner of my '03, and had all four calipers replaced under warranty 2 months ago with no questions asked. It had 29K miles on it. My warranty expires Jan. 1st. This particular dealer has sold very few Evos. The district manager was not involved in the decision. I hate how Mitsu is so inconsistent on this issue. Good luck.

Thanks to everyone else who is posting relevant info, not just posting to be argumentative.
nope, don't work for mitsu.

agreed, i have no idea what i'm talking about concerning warrantys being transferrable.

but it doesn't take much research to know that you own an evo. and therefor, the warranty was void the instant it was imported into the US. don't believe me? just tell them you have something wrong with your tranny... 9/10 times they will deny you. 3/3 people i know were denied. (2 of the three were 100% stock)

next, i'm not trying to be arguementative, i just think you should step back and realize what you are doing.... you are going to court over PAINT on your BRAKES. don't you think it would be easier, cheaper, more cost effective to just say, "hey, my brakes aren't bright red anymore. oh well, they still work like the bad **** brakes they are" and just drive it and not worry about it? or is the image of having bright red brakes that important to you? and if your saying it is none of my business, your actually wrong there. cause it costs TAX dollars to use the judge, and courtroom. also, the cost of mistu's lawyers comes from the purchase price of the car we bought. therefor, it is in my interest to keep silly lawsuits out of the courts. no silly lawsuits = cheaper cars, less taxes.

KevinD: You are probably right. I should just repaint or reclear. In my mind though it is just giving in that lets a manufacturer(big company) walk all over you and continue to do so.

TuffGuy: Do I know you? You are so pointless I am not even sure how to respond to you. THE WARRANTY DOES TRANSFER MORON. The rights ARE the same. If I thought you could read I'd tell you to read through your warranty and PROVE ME WRONG that the rights are not the same. DO IT!!!!

Thanks for a reasonable reply....

I understand the 100k warranty does not transfer, but I still have a 60k warranty and am well within that mileage, so I dont see your point. That is what I was trying to say. It has a shorter term but the same exact coverage.

**Edit** actually the dealership I bought the car from did tell me...in fact GUARANTEE (in words of course) the 100k warranty was intact.

Thats absolutely true. Hall Mitsubishi in Newport News has been awsome for me. Too bad they are closing forever next Friday.

Then it sounds like the dealership is being shady, I would pursue action against them. If you're under 60k miles, there's no reason why they should deny it.

Do you have any mods on the car?

Has anyone had their calipers repainted? If so how much did you pay?
