crashed the evo - need some insurance info

i hit some black ice sat night and smashed the front end. the frame is broken in the front. does anyone know if it is fixable once the frame is broken? i'm just trying to get an idea of whether the adjuster will total it out or not since the frame is broken.

Very possible that they may total it depending on the other damage. I hit someone at 35 mph on the passenger side when they pulled out in front of me, the frame rail was tweeked behind the wheel, car was totaled. It was not the fram damage that totaled the car it was the parts and their prices that caused it to be totaled. If you search you will find a couple of pics of my car and it really did not look that bad.

It's most likely going to be totaled--besides, you wouldn't want to drive a car with compromised (repaired) frame...

Man that black ice is a b*tch. It always makes me nervous driving to see my parents who live on some less-traveled roads during the winter.

Edit: But yeah, it better be totalled because your car isn't gonna be worth anything to another buyer if you were to sell. It does sound like it will be totalled though.

i searched for posts by you and got like 1700 results. do you have a link to your pics? also, when they total your car, are you allowed to get parts from it?

To answer your question - yes, the front end can be repaired. Just make sure they replace instead of repair the frame parts. It'll probably need a new front rail extension is all.

Typically insurance companies will total a vehicle at 80%. Some will go as low as 70%.

Sorry to hear about your car, but it's hard to say if it's totalled without pictures...
