Oem Vortex generator gap

Hello everyone. I just installed a oem vortex generator. I did everything instructed on the manual. There is still a gap on the fin when facing the wing... Is this normal? Or do i have to use a hair dryer and install it again? Thanks in advance guys.

Ic. So it is normal then. You are saying it only fits perfect on the aluminum roof?

awww dude that sucks, i test fit mine first, and then needed to do modding to the inner edges where the generator lifts up....

pretty much if you really want to fit it and make it perfectly flush with your roof, you need to peel it off but that will ruin the double sided tape, you can always get more of that though.

Ive posted a howto on here in the forums regarding howto modify your vf in order to fit flush, but all you need to do is get a soldering iron and melt the inner edges where it fits onto the roof at the edge, you need to make it rounded not squared. The ix mr edition has a more squared roof edge, evo ix's dont have the edges squared.

i just kept melting the inner edges of the vg and it fit beautifully.

I had the same problem. It is an eyesore sometimes, but I guess I'll try to fix it when the weather clears up here.

Fixed! I used the same 3m tape. It was still sticky. I am going to be able to sleep now.

I have the same problem, there is a gap after the 3m tape, and it even make noise when doing 70 + on highway, may be I didn't do it right, but instead of the 3m tape, get some silicon glue/gasket maker, that fixed mine, it won't damage the paint either, works great
