Who Makes The Best Gauges???

I have an 06 IX and it isnt the RS or MR so it didn't come with the gauges...I am looking into purchasing the usual set of Boost, Oil Pressure, and Temp. I was wondering if you guys could help me out in making the decision. Who makes the most accurate gauges?

Best meaning???

If you want accuracy, Id say VDO or Stewart Warner. Even some of Autometers higher end lines are excellent.

If you want looks, Id say Defi.

Want a combo of the two? Omori (sp?) makes a nice set of color changing guages, and thats who Subaru uses for OEM boost guages.

Its just a guage, dont over-think it. I went with VDO, because I can get three guages with accurate results for the price of one Defi guage. As far as accuracy, as long as the guage is consitent, thats all you need. If a boost guage reads 2 psi high, you will know theres an issue if all the sudden it goes 4-5 psi high. Its all about consistent readings.

I would recommend 42 Draft Designs. They offer a guage kit that includes all wiring and fittings. Check out there website. I believe its www.42draftdesigns.com

I'm going to have to say Defi is the best for looks AND accuracy. Way better than Stewart Warner or Autometer. I say this based on personal experience with all of the named guages.

I have Autometer Sport comps. They aren't the fanciest gauges out there, but they work without any problems.

You say defi on accuracy? Do me a favor and search "defi accuracy" on this site. Or better yet, go talk to tuners about the general inaccuracies of the Defi gauges.

Have you logged your boost via a map sensor against your defis.

Defi's D are terribly inaccurate, just do a search on evom.net, and the defi bf's I think are off by 1-2 psi, and the omori gauges can't give an accurate reading past 25-26 psi, and so you best bet is a map sensor.

Ya know? your right. All of those teams in Nascar and the NHRA that depend on accurate readings must not know crap when they use autometer gauges. Notice I said higher end Autometers? But I guess that doesnt help you sell your set of Defis....
