Signed on to AOL this morning and right on the home screen is "Go, Street Racer, Go!" ...And I read on.. "Mitsubishi Lancer can top 150 mph" and then it provided a link to more 'speedsters'. The car is definitely in the well-known now...
heck, that's cool, but i think it's just as fun if someone doesn't have any idea what it is. i was talking to some guy in my complex parking lot and he looked at it and says "hmmm, nice aftermarket brakes"
it ain't aftermarket if it came factory like that.

Cars with similar power
Evo ----> 157
350Z --> 155
G35C --> 155
Boxster -> 145-155?
TT Supra -> 155
STi ------> 145
The list goes on and on. Most are electronically limited. Some are just geared shorter. Nothing going 150mph is friggin slow.

156 redline is the Evo, assuming 245/45-17 tires. If we believe Automobile magazine, fuel cutoff is at 7500 RPM, so actual top speed would be 167, but I doubt it could reach it stock.
The STi hits redline in 6th gear at 170 mph on stock 225/45-17 tires, and Automobile magazine says the fuel cutoff is at 7200 rpm, so it is gear limited to 175 mph. The STi will not reach this speed due to an electronic limiter at 147. Even if you removed the limiter, I seriously doubt it could do 170 stock. Peak power hits at 146mph and goes downhill from there, so I'd be surprised if it made it much over 160.
