I haven't seen anything about the US Lancer Evolution being electronically limited to 155. Motor Trend's "Speeding" article June 2003, ran the EVO to 156. No mention of electronic limit. They did however also test the MB AMG55 which they reported is electronically limited to 155 but was disabled for the testing.
