+65 horsepower remapped ECU
It would takes some pretty creative dyno calibrations to back up such claims. Simply put, there isn't that much "slop" in the factory ECU on an otherwise stock car. For every 1 horsepower you gain through fuel enleanment and/or timing advance and/or boost level increases yields a discernable compromise to safety margin against knock. How much of a compromise is reasonable and still safe is debatable and will vary from person to person and condition to condition. But I'd argue that no amount of ECU fiddling will yield a 65 horsepower gain in an otherwise stock car running on pump gas.
For anyone to even suggest that an ECU upgrade alone will bump up output that much can only be explained by a) a complete lack of understanding in the field of engine control systems and/or engine theory b) inability to use a dyno properly or c) a complete disregard to reality. Take your pick.
Also, I have been led to believe, through those I trust, that there are no plans for any Ralliart products (besides cosmetics and other innocuous do-dads that most of us will make fun of) to be released in the US in the foreseeable future. As is the case with STi and Subaru, one can blame the bleak forecast on corporate lawyers and their risk-adverse tendancies.

David,
Don't take this the wrong way but in my one week of reading these forums, you are definitely a ECU topic *****!
Keep up the good work!
Look! I see ECU in that thread! Go get it!
BTW, my dealer told me nearly the same thing today though he said the HP would be what is available in Japan, no exact number.

I Would say this dealer is full of BS ,
lots of our freinds on the MLR have installed Ralliart ecus ( on evo 4's,5's,'s and 7's ) and lots had dyno sessions and claimed only 10-15 hp from this upgrade , no ecu by itself can give a 65 hp power increase ! the Ralliart ecu only makes the car run less rich (it runs pig rich anyways) , it has a different duty cycle for the boost solenoid , so you notice a slight increase in boost pressure ( 0.1 bar) and has no fuel cut limit built in , so you can increase the boost pressure with no cuts ! this is why its used for , permits you to raise your boost pressure up to 1.5 bar i think (22psi) , it has enough fueling for such high pressures .
Ralliart ecu by itself 10 -15 hp
Ralliart ecu + boost controller 45-60 hp
P.S and it costs less than 3000 USD , i will be ordering mine next week for my seven , its 100,000 JYP in japan +shipping , which equals around 850 USD +shipping
cheers

WTF? I have noted the day, time and relative humidity.
Plus I have been arguing all along that the only Ralliart stuff we will see are T-shirts and shift ka---nobs and competition floor mats.
Speedlimit...

Actually, the WORKS ECU upgrade, which retails for $449, is totally transparent to the dealership service technician when you bring your car in for service. Nothing is plugged into the box. Nothing is soldered onto the board. Our method of upgrading the factory ECU through flash programming is the same as a certain other ECU available outside the U.S.

Ok, you have been promoting the ECU for quite sometime now...when do you plan on releasing performance gains and dyno charts??
The Ralliart ECU availbale through power axel does not work on US models. First off it needs the ACD which US models do not have and also needs at least 96 octane to run. The ECU from Ralliart at the moment is truly for Rally racing there are rumors of Ralliart thinking of creating a street version ECU but do not expect it any time soon and who knows for what model Japanese or US. If you want an ECU type plug n play I must say the way to go is with Works. They are putting in the time and have had a chance to see a bit of the market shake out.
Hey "Works".
Don't you need to dyno tune each car individually to do a proper "flash"? My 2003 mustang had been "flashed" and ran like a king.....
I like the idea of a "flash" for sure. How do you unflash it though.?

ok the other day i talked went to the dealership to talk to marshall(salesman who sold me my car), he said that a Ralliart chip will be available for sale in the U.S. in November. He didnt have any other information about it though.

But as you correctly noted, not for US Lancer Evolution.
