Question Ralliart chip ?

Was at the local dealer today looking at a Yellow Evolution 8 ....
I got to talking to a Sales guy that was telling me about some of the Ralliart accesories that will be available here in the near future.

What struck me was that he started telling me about this new chip from Ralliart that will take a stock Evolution from 271HP to
about 335HP !!!
Your car will supposedly still be under warranty as long as it is dealer bought & installed.
Anybody heard about this ?
I sure haven't (until about 30 minutes ago)

Anybody ?

Not sure of the answer to any of those questions....
I was talking to him about the other
options....& he said ....
"Hey ... ya wanna hear a cool reliable rumor?"
I said "Hell yeah"
"Ralliart is supposed to be releasing some kind of chip or computer upgrade for the Evolution"
" It's supposed to take a stock Evolution from 271HP to the mid 300's under warranty as long as the part is dealer installed & bought"

The reason I posted is because I want to know .
If it is supposedly to be released here it surely
has been released in the outback or in Japan ....
In other words ... if this is true there is info
out there on this upgrade somewhere.......

This is a rumor that's been floating around for a couple of months. Nobody knows any more now than then. It'd be pretty nice if it was true, but I have to think that 335hp is VERY optimistic!

335 flywheel HP is very realistic with a simple mod or 2. All that the Ralliart chip would have to do to make 335 is to keep the Evo boosting a consistent 19 to 20psi all the way through to redline, and maybe a slightly more aggressive timing/fuel curve (not by much).

Its a hardcore rumor. It seems to be something that is going around from dealer to dealer. Possiblities of it being true, but don't rely on it as a part.

plenty of tuners have been able to get substantial gains by adding a standalone a/f computer or piggyback ecu. I don't think this sort of gain is out of line (well, maybe a little bit) given how rich the Evo runs in stock form.

Come on guys.

Realistically, if US Mitsubishi dealers really started selling this, you know it'd cost $3,000 at least.

After all, these are the guys who brought you $20,000 EVO mark-ups and $400 E-brake handles

What do you think they'd charge for a part that actually did something? Especially since it allegedly preserves warranty.

I don't know about the Us, but I know a few guys here that HAVE purchased a chip from Ralliart in the past to boost the HP. So as far as my .02 cents are worth, I'd say don't dismiss this as simly a rumor

I'll pay $5,000!!!

Actually, the WORKS ECU upgrade, which retails for $449, is totally transparent to the dealership service technician when you bring your car in for service. Nothing is plugged into the box. Nothing is soldered onto the board. Our method of upgrading the factory ECU through flash programming is the same as a certain other ECU available outside the U.S.

Although not a "Mitsubishi/Ralliart" part, our upgraded ECU is developed to the same exacting OEM standards and still allows the dealer service tech to access the factory diagnostic codes.

Plus, unlike the "other" ECU, the WORKS Brain flash comes with one complimentary reflash when you order additional engine tuning parts from WORKS.
