Yea, the more weight saved at the top of the car the better. Look at it in terms of a tipping moment. 5 lbs saved at the 10" level of the car (5 lbs * 10" = 50"lbs) is the same as 10lbs at 5" level (10 * 5" = 50"lbs). They will both decrease the amount of roll the same amount. This is a dumbed down example with ficticious numbers, but you get the point. Weight off the top of the car has a much more dramatic effect on handling than the same amount taken off down low.

Agreed! Cheers. I was going to get a white RS, but Electric Blue got the best of me. I wouldnt have minded rolling the windows down at autocrosses and track days, haha.

You come on here for all intesive purposes complaining you cant get the options and color you want on a car, then claim you have owned over 30 cars within 6 years of graduating high school. It just doesnt seem to add up. By the way, what color was your 02 Firehawk? My buddy has a big Firehawk club, Im a definate fan of that particular f body.
I know its pretty unbelievable. I say I will stop, but then get another deal too good to pass up. I still live at home. I have no other bills, other than a car. Some were bought for a quick re-sale, others were just good deals, and I knew I wouldn't get burned.

Alot of dealers know me in my area. And alot of people think I am crazy. But I almost enjoy the process of buying and selling cars as much as driving them. And from owning all of these, I have a huge knowledge base. As I research and research on forums and from other people.

It is easy to go through cars if you don't loose money. With the exception of a few, the worst being my M3. Lost 12k. I really havn't lost much if any. Payments don't count as you are paying for the use of the vechicle. I have also made profits one quite afew cars. I bought my TT stealth for 6800. And sold it for 15k. Timing is everything.

I was also torn going cheap, going nice car. I kept on doing that. now I have become pretty cheap. I actually enjoy SRT-4's. But the EVO has alot more to offer. I just hope it can hold up at the drag strip like my SRT-4's did.

Would I do it all over again. Plain and simple no. I would have kept my Si and saved. It would be paid off, and I could buy a C6 z06 cash now if I wanted, or have no school loans. Eh, it was fun while doing it.

If you don't believe me go to CHicagolandsrtclub.com. they think i am nuts. I am part of their club. And they have seen everything just this year and pictures of my cars from the past.

I have created more than one enemy going through cars the way I do. Envy I guess.

The firehawk was black on black. It also had the 345hp package. Auburn rearend, slp decklid spoiler, chrome wheels, and bilstein suspension. It was one hell of a ride. One time i punched it, on the one to two shift the traction control box popped out of the center console. lol. I miss that car. But I sold it for a profit. I really wanted another f-body. But I couldn't find what I wanted. A lower mile M6 for a good price.

That said if I find the right car for the right price the SRT is gone.

Hey, DON'T F#(KIN BUY AN EVO THEN! was it that hard?

btw, my sunroof equipped GSR will run circles around most RS's

...why? cause I've spent a lot of time tightening the loose nut behind the wheel

and btw, no ABS is tons better in snow and ice. The EVO's abs goes freakin nutso in snow and ice

that is the dumbest thing ive ever heard the aluminum roof is a weight reduction
in the most important part of the car go research youll find very helpful information on what an aluminum roof does and the weight saved
correct me if im wrong i dont know the exact spec but saving the weight on the roof is like lowering the center of gravity something like 2 inches
which is insane and very helpful in the handling of this car
also i have to agree with him not getting any options except what comes standard in each trim is dumb but its the way mitsu does things
if you want abs THAT bad find a wrecked gsr part out and take everything needed
it might be a pain but its well worth it
i have an rs and id love power door locks im fine with roll down windows but reaching around and locking the doors is ridic but i have to live with it
as will you
Technically it is weight reduction compared to the steel roof IF YOUR PURPOSE IS TO DRAG RACE the Evo. Thats what he said, he would like to do. You are correct about lowering the CENTER OF GRAVITY (not 2 inches though) if he was to use it for track purposes. Then again you can get a set of megan coilovers and just lower the whole damn car when you need to and get the same effect... My point was to show that you can modify the Evo to meet his ACCELLERATION needs, and not necessarily his HANDLING, although the weight reduction will help... Relax...

Very true. Unfortunately, lowering the car changes the distance between your roll center and you ceter of grav (cg), which like the calcs I showed increases your roll couple. That and a lowered Evo can have its roll center below ground, causing the car to "skate" the front end. Then suspension geometry needs to be changed to raise the roll center (like Whitelines kit). Its easier to have less weight up top at first.

It was a 94. first year of the 2g. And was black. coolest thing I thought about that was the switch for the exhaust.

If that car wasn't so expensive to maintain, I would have definetely kept it. It was badass. Plus the profit margin didn't hurt. It was mint though. An original owner car.

Here is a pic of it. I have better pics. If you want to see more of my cars, I have alot of them posted on the crossfireforum.org site. They are in my album.

Has no Bilstein suspension, vortex generator, and no MR badges.

Id go with the SE, not much of a price diff., and you get a whole lot more for your money. Plus you can be weight conscious while modding it, to shed some pounds. Do you really want to manually roll up 4 windows after you drop some freinds off for the night?
