After researching the EVO: My Verdict=Mitsu Marketing Dept blows

I have been a lurker for quite some time....

I came here a couple years ago to find info about the evo. Since I was thinking about buying an STi or EVO. I went with the STi. I know boooo.

STi wasn't what I wanted in a car so afew cars later I end up back in an SRT-4 for fun. But I am graduating soon, and was going to buy a C5 z06, then dicidied to hold out for a C6 Z06 when they become attainable. So I thought I heard the ix's have virtually no turbo lag now....and I would go back to awd...and they are fast.

So I decided to upgrade to a ix when I graduate. I wanted the MR, then found out the 6-speed is not the best for drag racing(pretty much what i do) So I said hell I get the RS gunna go down on options might as well go all the way.....I found out no ABS. That sux, especially for Chicago's winters. Then I found a compromise. The SE ix. Has all the features of the MR I want, and has the five speed.

So it was done, I would be looking for a Wicked White IX SE. Then to my dissmay not availabe in wicked white.

So I have to choose to get ABS or the color I want. Just tees me off mitsu doesnt give you more options instead of packages.

What I would like to have is an RS with ABS. And since ABS costs so much to put in, only figure I found was 5k and the reg ix has no alum roof or HID's which costs 2k to put in each, it has left me pissed I will not get a white EVO. I know more variables in the line cost more money but still, afew options is nice.

Mitsu Marketing FTL.

HIDs only cost about $300. You can do the install yourself in under an hour.

Aluminum roof... Hmmm, just get a mini battery instead and save the same amount of weight.

I hate abs... Id rather have no abs then abs during the winter.... I feel like I have more control over the car w/o it. Either way.... evo is an awsome car.

Wait, graduating what, high school? How many cars have you had? Must be nice.

You could get the Sun, Sound, Leather (ssl) package for the regular Evo, giving it the HIDS. THe aluminum roof, well is that something you need? Looking at you sig and your post, Im going to guess this car will see much drag racing duty; in which case any Evo is a bad choice.

My condolences to you - this must be very hard to deal with. Please ignore everyone elses mean-spirited comments - I feel your pain. Life can be cruel and unfair.

When I was 17, and was shopping for my third car, I found that Porsche did not make the 911 Turbo in a white exterior black interior combo. I was furious! Many people thought I was acting like a spoiled brat and that I should be happy with one of the other fine colors - aplex silver, tarshack black, ramrod red and grapple gray - but I wanted my Porsche in wicker white dammit! Instead, daddy bought me a SL500 - it was red and all, but just wasn't the same......
