MR Boost Gauge Fogs up

This happen to anyone else? I notice it happens when it rains, the factory boost gauge that came with my MR, the inside of the plastic cover fogs up

Any ideas as to why its happening?

I have my defi boost gauge, and sensor for the smc meth control box tapped off the same line...

thanks

So wait...you have both the factory boost gauge and a Defi boost gauge? Your using both?

The factory gauge probably isn't sealed properly and the humidity and condensation is getting inside.

Bingo!

If it's a IX MR this is more likely the issue. More than several of us have had a leaking problem related to the MR's gauge wiring run through the passenger fender grommet that was incorrectly sealed. My gauges fogged up alot but that was because there was a leak and alot of water and condensation.

Read this link and definitely the last 2 pages for a clear description of the issue and step by step instructions on how to check and resolve the problem:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=228234&page=4

I have since sealed my car and have no further leaking issues and it's raining like a **** where I am today.

I thinks he means getting inside the gauge, the inside face fogs up, mine does it too sometimes but it doesn't coincide with rain.

ahh I see, yes mine does that too sometimes, I just throw on the AC and it goes away.

But for sure I got condensation inside the whole car when I had the leak.

It also states in the papers that should've came with the gauge package that your gauges will fog up and that it's normal- well maybe for Mitsu products anyways but that can be changed. It also tells you other things about the other gauges as well like the oil temp gauge dropping if you hit a puddle or something. Happy New Year.

yup, A/C or defrost clears it up

it doesnt always happen with rain either, if its very humid or foggy out, it does it too

the defi is on my steering column right in front of my face so i can see it easier, whereas the stock guages are in a horrible place. even when i swapped the radio and the gauges, and moved the factory gauge to the left hole )closest to me) its still easier to look at the defi because its in my normal field of vision

besides, i cant do quick calculations to convert from psi to bar on the fly lol
