Finally got to use my ACD

Found some dirt roads 5 miles from my house where a lot of dirt bikes and 4X4 trucks go. I found a lot of flat ground and once I got the feel for the car I was doing 50-60 MPH runs on a bumpy dirt road and the car performed just like I though it would. I can tell the difference between Tarmac and Gravel when I change the ACD and because of that is FTMFW! Have a few before pics and got a video of me doing a pass.

and the short video...

Did you do any donuts or anything. I am not ball-z enough to take my car off road. I think that it is too low now. I would have to go back and pick up my lower control arm barce out of the middle of the road.

I had plenty of clearance and I didnt want to do donuts because ive read where they can hurt the AWD system in the Evo.

I dont think it effects it on the dirt like it does on the pavement, theres less stress in the dirt cause the wheels can spin freely

In Illinois, at least in my parts, it's hard to find a nice solid dirt road to let her rip. So, for the time being, I can appreciate the 'Snow' setting in a local parking lot. When I had the car set in about 6 inches of fresh snow she was screaming predictability on every turn. I flipped her into tarmac, and she was a different ride! I couldn't get grip on my spins and regaining control was a nightmare. It's an amazing machine. Nice pics.

man i use my acd switch all the time. so many people have asked whether or not you can feel the difference and to that i say - damn straight you can! unless i know the conditions are ideal (warm road, no recent rain, etc) i leave it in gravel mode. snow mode is a must for those winter days, unless you want to have fun drifiting in a parking lot.

I have used the gravel mode on dirt roads by my house also. I agree with TylerDurdenIX. You can definetly feel the difference between the modes, espically on loose gravel.
