no o2 sensor

i just got tuned by doug up at topspeed about a week ago, i had buschur tbe and hallman pro. I put down 327. at 22 psi. But my question is that when i got tuned i did not have a o2 sensor and i want to know what people think is it imparative or really important that i get one soon. I do have a cell light and the o2 that im missing is the one thats by the cat. I have a 06 so there is only one down by the cat.. Thanks a lot..

I think you do need an O2 sensor. If you don't want to put one on, you can buy an O2 simulator.

well the buschur tbe has a mechanical fix already welded ont the catback section for the o2 sensor. when i installed mine (w/ test pipe) the o2 sensor was long enough to reach over and screw in.

did you completely remove it or did you go with the high flow cat option? but i believe that buschur still has the o2 bung with mechanical fix in the catback section?

Why don't you have that o2 sensor? What did you do with it? You're supposed to put it into the bung that came with your TBE. DId you actually remove it? That's senseless.

However, it doesn't affect performance or do anything to the car/tune, but it's incredibly unwise to drive around with a CEL on all the time, because then you'll never know if there's a REAL problem. You could get a CEL for something catastrophic and never know. it's simple to plug the rear o2 into the bung that's already in the TBE, then use an o2 sim, mechanical fix, anti-fouler, etc etc etc (lots of easy choices).

You mean it's screwed in? It shouldn't be welded in - it should screw right in (and out, if necessary).

Mine screwed right into the testpipe. Buschur has a CEL fix for like 15 bucks. Best 15 you can spend in your situtation.

Downpipe?? Noooo, that would be a wideband o2 sensor maybe - the front o2 goes into the o2 housing and the rear o2 is after the cat (or in the cat on a IX), and you don't have to buy it if you get a BR TBE - it comes with it already.

That's not what I said - I'm saying the extended fix screws into the bung in the cat-back. You screw the o2 sensor into the piece that sticks out of the cat-back, and that piece can be unscrewed and removed, too. It's not welded in, or at least mine isn't...

Warr, mine was welded in (i think),i just screwed in my o2 sensor to the o2 bung with the mechanical fix. I really don't remember. The install was so easy that because it was all there in place and i just screwed in my o2 sensor. I haven't had a CEL yet from it or any CEL.

But back to the original question by fastfourdoor, where did you o2 sensor go??? did you completely remove it??
