So i am going to be getting a clear bra installed tomrrow. The guy who has the kits says he has a 05-06 MR kit and a 06 IX, RS kit. My car is a 2006 IX MR. So i am confused, damn 3M!

I know there was a difference from '05-06' MR in front bumpers. Right?

So i guess my question is....Is there any difference between the IX GSR and IX MR front bumpers? Im guessing no. BTW i dont have an SE. Thanks.

 

There should be a huge difference between '05 and '06. As far as just '06s, MRs have the no-lift kit and if you have an SE, you have a different front lip.

 

All IX's have the same front bumper. The only thing that would differ is the lower lip on the MR SE and the SE compared to other IX's. Depending on the kind of clear bra kit (i.e Xpel,Starshield Armor etc.) they may include coverage for the lip

 

Cool, thats exactly what i wanted confirmed. Thanks bro. Yeah , mine is just a standard MR, small stock lip, if you can even call it a lip.

BTW : Clear Bra guy said he will do the rocker panels and the area behind the front wheels for an extra $150. I cant decide if i should get this area done. Any of you guys get kick-up from the front tires causing chips. I hear it all day on residential roads, but i dont see any chips..any input?

 

My Starshield Armor kit includes coverage on the rocker panels. Just like you I don't driver on dirt roads either but in a matter of a couple of days I got a rock chip near the right rear rocker when the car was new. If you're going to run wider wheels and tires I would consider it a must. Either way it's cheaper than having it repainted.
