what a sh!ty b-day
It's stupid how some members state that if we can afford a $30K plus car, the guy should be able to afford paying for the damages. I guess those people are wealthy and purchased their car and didn't finance it. I'm sure the majority of people on this forum financed their car.
This is a tough situation, but in my opinion, I think the coworker who did the damage to the EVO did the right thing by being cooperative and offering to pay for the damages.
In the end, good luck with the situation!

cover your own *** first. as someone wnois a part of the lawenforcment community. file the report and let them know you just want it on file as u have come to an agreement witht he other party. plain and simple. its a simple blue form report. also known as a info info traffic packet really. they might not even go that far. and do a simple report.
its throwing BOES, like ELBOWS, throwing elbows to ppls faces
I fail to understand how $500 for someone who can afford a $30,000 car is worth filing a police report and going to court with someone you work with every day. I'd have to see pictures of this terrible damage first, but I'm assuming it's just as bad as any of the 30 rock chips I have on the front of my car. If so, I still fail to see how an egg can do enough damage to warrant $500 in repairs and going through all the trouble as you're saying you will do. But that's just me talking.
Yes I can afford to repair it but thats not the piont at all. Throwing eggs at a car as a joke. I must be missing the humor in this
The reason its $500 is because they need to take off the bumper, color sand and buff and then reclear and put the bumper back on.body labor 4.4hrs $38/hr, paint labor 5.2hrs $38/hrs, paint supplies 5.2hrs $22/hrs. Again its not about the repairs one bit its the principal of the matter
If the guy said he would pay for the repairs, GET IT IN WRITING. You don't have to necessarily "fill out a report" or anything, but having legal documentation will stand up better than "He said he would..." should you need to take him to court to get your money out of him. In lieu of writing, if you have witnesses to him agreeing to pay, that would be good enough, really, should he decide not to come out his pocket.
Give him the benefit of the doubt if you guys are co-workers/friends and give him a chance to pay for it without a bunch of drama. If he forks over $500 tomorrow, you got nothing to worry about and it's all good. At any rate, you have to look at the long term - how this is going to affect your relationship with him, since the two of you have to work together.
BTW, Happy Birthday!

Split the $500 with him. He didn't mean it, and you have to work with the guy. $hit happens, and it sound like he's willing to step up to the plate and make it right. Do this good gesture, feel good about yourself, and eventually it'll pay off. What comes around, goes around.

We work together not really freinds. We have worked together about 2 years there. I have about 10 people that was there when he said he would pay for it. This morning I pulled him aside and told him the same thing. I said"we have to work together 6 days a week we have to get everything out now because of work. He apologized a bunch and admitted that the egg thing was going to far and resured me he would pay so hopefully everything will pan out fine. I told him so he doesn't think I am trying to burn him for extra money he can just pay my bodyshop directly
Although its too late because your out of the heat of the moment I would've kicked his *** bad.... real bad. Then just suck up the $500 yourself because you're even after that. Next year you could rest assured that he won't mess with your car
+1. Friends don't file reports against each other. If it was me I wouldn't even charge a friend, and you're talking about filing a report - what kind of dude are you? And you got ripped off on that estimate, touch it up or get that part paint or something, no way it would cost $510
you would be ****in stupid not to file a report...i mean who in there right mind thinks they can throw eggs from a second story level at a 30k+ car and thinks its fine??? sorry that you have to work with him everyday but hes the one who ****ed up
