I never said anything about a joke, IIRC. What I said is he made a misjudgement and if you have to work with him and or have any sort of friendship, just accept the fact that he owned up to it in front of 10 people and move on. Like I said, I don't doubt that's the cost to repaint the whole bumper - just doubt that the bumper needs to be repainted because of an egg. I have chips all over the front of mine - it's just a reality of lots of highway driving. All cars I've owned have had it. I really should invest in that 3M stuff.

This post just makes me sad. There is so much more to get mad at in life. A co-worker who owns up to their mistake in front of people is not one of them, IMO. Again, I'm assuming the egg made as minor a damage as a rock chip on the highway - even a few rock chips on the highway. I just can't see anything as fragile as an egg as doing so much damage, all by itself, that one needs to get a bumper repainted.

 

i would make a criminal damaging report with the police. list the employee that threw the eggs as the suspect. down the road you can always follow through sign a warrant on him if he decides to not pay.
