God it always happens like this.

Needing some help guys. So i was washing my car cover and after i get done i thought "well i might as well wash the car too" i had my ipod on because i wsa just moving the car into the gravel. I parked the car in the gravel and got out and noticed that i could get closer so i got in and went to start the car up and nothing. I took my ipod off immediatly and went to start the car up thinking i could just be a retardt, but still nothing. I mean my car is as dead as good friday. I have no "Ding, Ding, Ding" telling me my keys are in the ignition, i have no horn, no radio....NADA. I checked the battery for volts with a meter and i got 27.2 V checked the cable under the hood (because the battery is relocated to the trunk) and i got 27.2 V. Hook everything up and i have nothing still. Checked the fuses and they look fine but i have never messed with the 60A battery fuses so i don't know what i am looking at. Can someone please help me.

haha, thats what i was thinking, and unless you have a battery load tester which places a load onto the battery, the numbers arent really useful. A battery can say 10v and still not start a car because as soon as load is put on it, it quits.

9.6v is the cutoff line. If it is not your battery, try hitting the starter to free up any deadspots, if it isnt that, turn your lights on for a minute to remove the battery surface charge and check the resting voltage with a multimeter or the like.

Check for the battery terminals corrosion or looseness. Check finally for fuses after that regarding ignition.

Hope this helps and goodluck, feel free to pm for any questions

hmmm

Sounds like a simple electric problem. Try charging the battery, try a different battery, check all fuses...

So i checked everthing and could find nothing. I end up taking it to mitsu and the mechanic litterally looks in my trunk says "oh i know whats wrong" takes the grommet off the screw i was using to mount the ground to the chassy and starts the car right up. The crappy thing is i checked the ground to see if it was loose to begin with and it wsa as tight as when i installed it (oh and the grommet was there because the battery kit said to put it there.

So thank you everyone for the help i feel like a huge dumba$$ and am totally humbled. Oh and thank you mitsu for charging my $100.

Wait; so you had a rubber grommet between the chassis and the ground terminal? Don't worry we all do stupid things.
