How much does you Evo cost PER MILE?

I know there have been threads on payments, purchase price, finance rates, gas mileage, etc. etc.

Here's one quick question, what does it cost you to drive one mile in your Evo?

[ ( Monthly Payment + Insurance Payment ) / Avg. Monthly Miles ] + ( Cost of 1 Gallon of Gas / Your Typical MPG )

For me, it's [ ( $480 + $120 ) / 1500 ] + ( $2.50 / 17 ) = $0.55 per mile to drive my Evo

Clearly, those who drive less or get worse gas mileage will have a much higher cost per mile.

While we're at it, feel free to add the cost per day (so you know how much money you're "losing" by NOT driving your Evo a single day).

( Monthly Payment + Insurane Payment + Cost of Gas in Avg. Month ) / 30 Days

For me, that's ( $480 + $120 + $200 ) / 30 = $27 a day to own my Evo

Edmunds actually calculates this for a lot of new cars.

You guys are leaving out depreciation.

I dont see how depreciation comes into play. If I have a 60 month loan out and if I dont refinance..... Giving that gas prices stay the same and my average miles a month are the same then it will cost me that much untill I pay my loan off. Right?

[ ( 490 + 130 ) / 1400 ] + ( 2.20 / 20 ) = .55 dol/mi

( 490 + 130 + 154 ) / 30 Days = 25.8 dol/day

however, i think your figures are way off, simply because cost of other things such as tires, brakes, clutch and other wear stuff like fluids, modifications, tolls, registration, inspection.

here i'll try adding that in for you in an equation:

[(total spent on modifications / number of days you've owned your car)] + [(total spent on brakes tires and clutches / number of miles on your car) *(miles driven in a day)] + [(amount spent on tolls/parking per day)] + [(amount spent on registration and inspection / 365)] + [( Monthly Payment + Insurane Payment + Cost of Gas in Avg. Month ) / 30 Days] = real dol/day spent on car.

for me that value looks more like this:

[$3000/900days] + [($2310/38000mi)* 46mi/day] + [.6 dol/toll*6 toll/day] + [(30$/year+150$/year)/365day/year] + [(490$/month +130$/month + 154$/month)/30day/month] = 36 dollars a day.... which is about .78 dollars per mile.

yikes.

thats also 1000 dollars a month, and 12000 a year. i'm a retard.

$0+$89/500mi +$2.60/gal /20mi/gal = $0.178/mi + $0.13 /mi = 30.8c /mi

[$0+$89+$65]/30days = $154/30 days = $5.10 /day

Doesn't really make sense to ignore depreciation and maintenance as they are both huge factors on this car in particular...

Yeah, by ignoring depreciation (which is the loss of resale value all cars experience) and maintenence you are being way too cheap. Edmunds says the Evo costs something like $.81 per mile for the first 5 years.

The big variable is how much lead you put in your shoes when you get dressed in the morning.

Depreciation doesn't cost you anything if you don't resell the car.

It's a book value, not an actual cost.
