Couple Quick Questions!
JDM STi's prior to 2007 are 2.0L
US-Spec, as well as non-japanese Asian market and possibly European market have been using the 2.5L EJ25 for a while.
Edit: Further investigation indicates that European spec STis were still using the EJ207 as late as 2005.

Like i just said, 6 months ago I was in japan looking at a 2006 STI and it had a 2.0L in it (so they can still race in rally). However, I did pick up a Forester STI flyer in Japan which had a 2.5L in it, so maybe that's the one epson has.

That is completely wrong. I wish you'd stop interjecting authoritative comments when you're a newbie (teenager, too) who doesn't even have an Evo. It's the INTAKE that requires a tune, not the BOV. You cannot tune for a BOV - that makes no sense. By definition, a BOV is a valve that vents to atmosphere, so that is what the OP was asking. He could have gotten his answers easily by searching, and he should have utilized the Newbie Forum and read the rules before ever making this thread, but it does not appear he is asking about bypass valves in general - he appears to be asking about actual BOVs. BOVs are not good on a MAF-equipped Evo, but upgrading the diverter valve to another stronger diverter valve is recommended on Evo VIIIs (not IXs).
Uhm, you didn't even know you INSTALLED and TUNED a 2.0 and thought it was a 2.5? I find that unbelievable and on the verge of impossible. Add that to the fact that you somehow are in high school and are able to afford a JDM STi motor along with a JDM 6spd trans _and_ a turbo upgrade...I dunno, sounds implausible.
What service allows people to go to boot camp without finishing HS? When I went, that was not possible. Is that a new thing letting people go while still in HS? I've never heard of such a thing and it was not allowed while I was in service, which lasted until 2001. What do you do as a senior after boot camp? Just sit around waiting a year until you graduate? Never heard of that either.
Also, as an E-2, you won't make nearly enough to afford an Evo even if it's under 30k. Not sure what you are talking back in reference to kickbacks nor how you would get $12k by joining as an enlisted nothing, but I'd recommend making absolutely sure you know what you're doing and where your finances will lie before purchasing any 30k sports cars. So, wait until you're in service, know where you're stationed, know what your expenses are, know what your take-home pay is, know how much the Evo costs per month (including payment, huge insurance, gas, maintenance, etc), and if you'll even be in the country to drive it.

I do all my tuning but i have a pro tune through DP performance in minnesota that i run but is modified by me. you can join at age 17 buddy(i'm 17) and my father died from a drunk driver and we had a 150k life insurance policy. 75k of that is in schooling and other exspences for me and my mom got the other half. i'm young but i have 20k of it invested right now in a COD.
I know that the age minimum is 17, but that has nothing to do with joining before graduating HS. YOu have to have an HS diploma (or equivalent) to be accepted, and you cannot go to boot camp then stay in HS.
Sorry about your dad, but that money should not have gone into crazy mods on a teenager's car.
