I got a ticket 27156 vc

OK first of all i would like to thank everybody who spends a minute to read this.
thank you. OK i just got a chp ticket and this was the violation 27156 (b) vc modified emissions syst. State referee required and a sticker in the sign off place. Now the question is, can i just pay the fine and forget about it?? cause the thing is, that i tried to pay it online and it says that my ticket its not elegible for online pay off and then i tried to pay it by phone and no luck the operator told me i had to go to court and that we will go from there. So is there anyone out there that went trough the same **** as me i would like to hear about it. And any comments are welcome.thank you.ohh and my mods are HKS 272 cams, cam gears, ssqv, down pipe, cat back system, perrin test pipe, Apexi intake with cold air box, AEM EMS with uego with no M.A.F. sensor and pushing 330 whp on crappy ca. 91 oct.
Thats why i dont want to go to a referee i dont want to take everything off and then putting it back on.

You sound like you are S.O.L., at this point you might as well put on the stock exhaust and take your car to the ref. Have them inspect the exhaust and see if they will let you pass with signing off just that part.

Your alternative in either situation is to put everything back to stock (except for items that have an EO number from the manufacturer).

That is the only way to go... other then have a buddy who has an in with a Ref and will just sign it off for you (with some $$$ exchanging hands). But good luck with that...

i think you can just pay off the ticket when i comes in the mail..... when i got my ticket in my integra gsr i had to go to the referee........ fail 2 times (damm cams). so when the ticket came it says you can pay the fine or pay the fine with referee sing off that was cheaper so i just paid the fine.

put you're stock exhaust back on, that is what the ticket is for. When you take it the inspector he/she is not allowed to look under you're hood because you have a fix it ticket for you're exhaust and only you're exhaust.

You don't have to touch anything on your car and can definately pay it off--I have been in your exact shoes. I was pulled over by our lovely CHP back in July of last year in my Honda del sol. I have a JUN stroker motor inside a JDM B16 Honda block--nothing visible except a fuel pressure regulator and the bastard was able to tell I had a JDM block which is a no-no. I got the same treatment: fix-it ticket with the smog sticker on the back that says needs to be signed off by a ref and your day is ruined you think your screwed. All you need to do is take your ticket to the courthouse listed on it, go to the courthouse windows where you pay fines and when you get up the to the court clerk, just hand them the ticket and ask what the bail fee is for it. They will probably remind you that you have a court date where you can show you have fixed everything and just tell them I would rather pay the fine and be done with it. Wasn't cheap--$440, but I happily pulled out my CC to not deal with the hassle. The fine may be different for a newer Evo, but it is still worth NOT having to disassemble your engine/time off to take care of it = major hassle. Once you've paid, the ticket is closed--no court date...DONE. The ref would have laughed if he started tampering with my car as it is a gross polluter, no cat, running super rich, etc. So bottom line: yes you can pay right away and be done with it. I have come to realize that you can pay ANY automotive fix it ticket off regardless of how serious it is, as I have had other infractions w/ the Honda. Incidentally, this is why I have a completely stock Evo as my daily driver. Good luck and don't hesitate to PM me if you have any other q's regarding fix-it tickets.

you are very lucky if you can just pay a bigger fine and not have to go to the ref.
but if you have to go to the ref, then everything has to be stock, because they will be doing a complete smog check, (visual, functional, tailpipe).

Yes, if you pay off a ref appointment instead of taking it there and you get pulled over again, the fine will indeed increase. But I think that is only for engine infractions. I have paid off 4 modified exhaust tickets, and they were all around $100. I would never again go through the hassle of constantly looking in my rearview mirrors because my daily driver is not smog legal--I did that for 5 years, always driving in fear of getting pulled over is not cool at all.
