Bounces from neutral to First gear?

When im at a dead stop, such as being at a stop sign, i put the car in first gear.. release the clutch.. give it gas and go.. while im letting go of the clutch and giving it gas.. i get a quick 8-9 bounces the car gives. I assume it has to do something with the clutch engaging.. can someone explain to me why it does that?

Jeez, you've had it this long and still don't know how to drive it. That's classic inability to drive a manual car. Didn't you realize it after a few times that you needed to try something different?

In the event that it's not a shifting problem from the driver... your firing may be messed up? really messed up? perhaps? giving the benifit of the doubt. But hey, if it is shifting ... no biggy. Get better ;-) It's not liking driving these cars for practise ever gets boring.

It's not shifting - it's not knowing how to get his car moving in 1st gear. In other words, an 06 Evo is his first manual transmission car (and likely his first car period).

He's not a "speed racer."

Wow, he got the Evo, because it's his dream car, but he's not a "speed racer" like the rest of us. Man, that's pretty awesome when you get to have your dream car while IN SCHOOL (thanks, Mom!!) and yet you don't even use it. Wanting to downgrade the tires in order to reduce noise so that he can drive it to and from school is a crying shame...
