Unhappy Killer Pothole kills rim

Well just as the title says on my way home tonight I was comming a rout I dont normally drive because of traffic. It was a nice little curvy back road so I was getting on it a little (50 in a 35) and as I came around a corner I nailed a deep pothole with my front tire, what I dont understand is how a pothole got in the middle of the road in the first place...after hitting the pothole I had a bad shake in my steering wheel at first I thought I threw out my alignment, but as I drove a bit more I thought this shake is pretty bad.. I slow the car was down and throw my head out the window and looked at my tire as I was driving slowly . I could see the rim wobble back and forth as I drove.I havent taken the rim off my car to see if anything else is damaged and I'm assuming the wobble must be the rim... looks like I'm in the market for a stock rim in the least .. oh well just sharing my bad day cause I know u fellas can relate .. keep on keepin on

Sorry to hear that man, I get paranoid myself every time I drive through a road that's bumpy. I always go slow. People get pissed off at me because I drive like a grandma sometimes but that's so I don't have to fill her up more often than she should. She's a thirsty *#*&#& when you get on it. Search the for sale forums you might find someone selling a rim.

that sucks man, try contacting someone in charge of DOT for your town/area and make a complant and see if they will pay for it. Some of my friends have done it and got them to pay for a new rim.

That happened to me pretty recently on my right rear wheel. Our wheels are pretty soft when it comes to big potholes and they don't have a whole lot of support.

Those killer potholes sure know how to kill. Plows make potholes all the time but I see you are in Hotlanta, so I'm not sure why there would be one that big.

call me a tard, but i think spinners on an evo would actually be good for performance. sure they would weight a bit more, but that fan action when they are rolling could cool the brembos and rotors. no more brake fade if u got spinnazzzzz!!!!

That's the avenue I'd travel. There's no reason that you should have to fix something because DOT is alittle lax on road repairs.
